It sets a first-week sales record for a female debut album., second only to Snoop Dogg's debut Doggystyle, which sold 803,000 in its first week in 1993.

pretty amazing actually!! No one will admit they have the CD, but everyone will have it!!

On a side not Lamberts CD sold about 150,000 copies and pronounced DOA (by me) Just my opinion... which hopefully not let Lambert be the new member forQUEEN... ;-)

Bocelli is the only hold over from last week, all the other albums are new debuts.

This is very simple.
She has more fans that are OLDer ,, and they choose to buy an actual CD than single downloads here and there like most others between 18-50 do.
So naturally her crap ends up sell more than other artists who are much better than her

Adam Lambert - ditto
Susan Boyle - great voice, cd of complete feces
Allison Iraheta - I awaited this CD, and she(record company, idol masterminds) totally blew it. Where is the rock edgy voice?

Idol puts out dance music now.....utter shit!

Shelf life of idol people = 3 years.....pitiful.

Oh wow! Some people are too misinformed. Yes, Susan got the number one spot, but Adam Lambert was number 3 and he sold almost 250,000 copies of his CD in its first week.

He surpassed established artists like Rhinna and Lady Gaga by thousands more in sales.

He'll be around for a long time.

His album is incredible. So is Susan's and Lady Gaga's.

Gator I want her album. I could care less what she looks like. That is a guy hang up. I heard it while drawing in the Starbucks last weekend. Beautiful. I enjoyed it very much. I like soothing voices ever once in a while. She has a lovely voice. Not every singer needs to be a Benatar. ( I love Benatar too, but for the other spectrum of singing).

So I guess you can count me in on the weirdos who would buy it.
