I had never heard of this band. Interesting review re their boxset release in 2009 from the Orlando Sentinel.

"Everyone is talking about the newly remastered Beatles boxed set, but my favorite boxed set of 2009 is Keep An Eye on the Sky.

That's the Rhino Records' four-disc career retrospective of Big Star, the 1970s band featuring Chris Bell and ex-Box Tops member Alex Chilton. The band never enjoyed much commercial success, but this material from the vaults (including a disc devoted to a live performance) is a reminder of what an injustice that was. In the liner notes, music writer Bob Mehr notes that not too many folks bought the original records, but almost all of them started a label or a band. With any luck, this boxed set could have the same effect."

Amazing band that unfortunately I haven't listened to nearly enough.

Basically recognized as the original power pop band.
