I can see why you would be bitter and not trusting after going though a terrible experience like that, but there are lots of good honest women out there. Don't give up just because you got burned. Hopefully in time you'll be ready for a relationship again.

Great advice.........sometimes you sabotage yourself, and settle for the wrong person because your "looking for the right one". You want to be with someone so bad. It can blow up on you easily. And Steve, I had a bad marriage and divorce, my Danny did too.........sometimes things don't work out, then things start going your way. I think because we both had been hurt so bad, we go the extra mile to be sure we treat each other better. You know what I mean? Hang in there. Your a sweet guy!

I was married once to a creep who cheated on me for the entire 15 years of our marriage. I divorced him when I found out. He had been with scores of women. My husband now is my best friend and every day gets better. 7 years as I said earlier. He loves me just the way I am.......he supports my art, and my teaching. Thought I'd found the right man, but after living with him for 5 years, came to realise that loving someone isn't enough, you have to be able to live with them, respect them, and make compromises for them, and just as importantly they have to be prepared to make compromises in return. I still adore him, and I still think of his parents as mine, but we're happier as friends than we ever were as a couple. And I'm so thankful that we made the decision to break up before we actually went through with the ceremony and before I got pregnant, because both of those things are 'forever after, like it or not' for me . As far as I am concerned, you better make sure you are damn ready to dance before you ask the devil to start the music.

WARNING! TMI ALERT: So, all you happily married's out there, what's the secret? What are some of the "must do's" & "must dont's"? I mean, seriously, I know sex isn't everything in a marriage but it's HUGELY important to me & so, (at the risk of sounding like a jerk), I can't fathom the thought of spending the rest of my life having sex with only one person. I can't imagine being that compatible with anyone. Doesn't it get boring? And what about drive? Some people have a strong sex drive (read: Jason) & some people could take it or leave it (read: Jason's ex) & I don't want to spend the rest of my life begging for a little sumptin, sumptin from my honey. I want it when I want it & that is ALWAYS! If I don't have sex at least once a day I get cranky..... I mean REALLY cranky ..... I mean "GET THE FUCK OUTTA MY FACE BEFORE I MESS YOU UP !!!" cranky.

I, don't know J.. sometimes he can make me so angry i could spit nails... and sometimes i do the same to him.... Then there are times when he makes me laugh until I cry.... I guess all of our good days out number our bad days... It's not the sex that drives our relationship, it's something bigger than that It's like we're two halves and one whole at the same time and it works.. He makes me feel loved and wanted but also free to leave if i'm not happy with him.. you know we aren't happy with each other all the time but i can't imagine life without him.. because he's my friend.

Actually, this is one of the reasons I'm moving out of my hometown - I never planned on being here anyway, but very few men in my age range move to town who are not already married or living with someone who followed them here. It makes for slim pickens! Getting out in the world should give me a much better chance of meeting someone who is compatible. It isn't my goal, but it would be a nice bonus. Since I never dated much to begin with and I'm well out of practice after living here so long, I may have some dating horror stories in the coming year. If they aren't too bad, I'll be sure to share them!
