I'll probably volunteer for airport duty Monday morning as I'll have a car, will be taking the day off and know the area. My suggestion is to fly into Midway and not O'Hare.

My suggestion is only fly into midway if you get a written guarantee that Dan is going to pick you up.
I can't believe you're telling people to fly to Midway. You on crack?

Some people aren't going to have a choice, I can only fly O'Hairypair. LOL sorry Lynn.

What's wrong with midway? Im just curious because southwest is cheaper, no bag fee.. so I was considering them. I like smaller airports too. Is it traffic?

Midway is A) in the ghetto and B) ridiculously inconvenient. If a person is renting a car and doesn't know the area, Midway is NOT a place I would suggest. Dan is going to come in and dispute this.  But even apart from that, it's way out of the way. Far more convenient - especially on Monday when it's recovery time, to have a shorter trip back to the airport. O'Hare sits right on the same tollway that goes out to Elgin. 20-25 minutes.

p.s. - when choosing return flights, choose ones that depart after 11 am if you can. Inbound (meaning toward O'Hare) morning traffic on 90, forget it.

So that still has us leaving the hotel at about 8 or 8:30 for an 11am flight. Wont' that still be bad? We need to be back home by 3 at the latest, so we need a flight that does that.
