I HAVE to vent on this one!!!!!!!!

Postby Tomulator » Tue Mar 02, 2010 3:06 am

Sorry but, it is a Monday.

Why oh WHY does XM satellite radio (of all media) have to resort to using "shortened, radio-friendly" versions of songs????!!!!

I HATE THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have listened to at least 3 different XM radio channels play totally "bastardized", shortened, lame versions of CLASSIC songs...almost made me drive off the road this AM.

What is up with that????????!!!!!

I pay good money to hear the ENTIRE friggin' song!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There...all better now.

Good game...UM played hard (as always). Thought OSU played pretty solid for the most part.

I listen to EVERYTHING...CD's included. It's just that XM shouldn't be that lame, IMO.

It's simply one more example of why satellite has been a miserably failed business model. They failed to distinguish themselves meaningfully enough from terrestrial radio. They needed something more than large selection of stations and (mostly) commercial free programming to usurp a fucking institutional stalwart like terrestrial radio. They really needed something more than even killer exclusives, like Howard Stern. They just didn't revolutionize the game enough. Terrestrial radio was pronounced dead in the early days of satellite. Looks like terrestrial's getting the last laugh if you look at the ratings.

Playing abridged versions of songs is bush league on the level of the cookie cutter Clear Channel classic rock station. You gotta step it up from that crap.
