More will know him than you think, trust me. He's been around and mentioned enough for people to fill the place up, considering the size of the places he was playing. Sure, he's not a household name like Eddie Van Halen or even a chump like Slash, but don't sell his name recognition short either. Not that including Journey in some form on the bill would hurt, mind you...

True. I just never meet anybody that knows the names of Journey members. Some barely remember Perry's name, but most do, and then asking what happened to him,and them. Except many have heard the youtube hype story by now. Though, I did meet an attorney the other day who said his college roommate from college, who he's still friends with, lives and breathes Journey and has followed them all these years still and is a major Neal Schon fan and is over the moon about Arnel. Really, the first time, beyond a couple of co-workers, that I've run into anyone who knows Journey members' names other than Perry.

It wouldve been a lot worse if it'd been his college roomate from highschool!

Got me.

Poor ticket sales? Too costly to travel?

Probably a bit of both. Neal isn't 35 anymore and when he sat down and thought about what this is going to entail, relative to the amount of faces he'll see, I bet he scaled it back.

Kinda ballsless, Luke toured all around the United States, including here. Had the humility to show up at a tiny ass little intimate bar. I sat close enough at a little table to step on his guitar pedals if I wanted to. It was great.

Neal's been on the road non-stop since he was 16, man. And considering he's coming off back to back 75 date tours (the latter one being a true worldwide tour), writing and recording a new album, and gearing up for a monstrous 2011, I'll give him a pass with just the California dates.

I won't. He should have considered that before scheduling stuff. Grow a pair if you're gonna go solo.

I won't either. FuFu is not amused.

I have plane tickets. It was St. Patrick's Day in a downtown Denver bar; he would have had a crowd even if people didn't know who the crap was playing.

UGGGHHHHHHHH!!!!!! I KNEW it was too good to be true for SLC to actually get a show!!!

Surprised no one's posted this, but he updated his page this morning and said :

"Sorry for the cancellation, since the Fillmore show is being filmed for DVD, I wanted more rehearsal time."

Personally, I find this to be a crock of shit. What better rehearsal is there then to gig? There's a reason why sports teams scrimmage. Practice is always different from the real thing.

Not like Neal, when it comes to performing. I'll bet Assoff had something to do with it.

First off, I will stroke one out live for you all if Schon is actually the one writing this. No fucking way...this is someone else thinking and spinning for him. He canceled because no tickets were sold. Come on Schon, grow a pair for once. If he really had balls, he would sign in (Locknload), and talk to you all and be honest.

Matt, I notice he is keeping Modesto and LA on the schedule though...a 6 hour bus haul beats a 30 hour one I suppose.

Nah. I can see Assoff stopping Soul Sirkus because they actually had some momentum. But this band? Why Irv care? And if so, what's keeping Schon signed with this douche? I told him once, "Azoff is an asshole.' And Schon replied, "yeah, but he does a lot of good shit too." Like what? Scheme up Lip syncing plans? Draw up REO and Journey tours? Come on!

Maybe he can package this DVD with Friga's latest solo album. Who makes the business decisions for this guy? Does he have money to just throw away?

Oh really now? If Perry was the one who scheduled this bar circuit tour, he wouldn't have to cancel due to no tickets being sold. He would have sold out in 5, maybe 6 minutes.

Also, Neal has been on the road in some capacity for 40 years. I'm giving him a pass on canceling 2 dates regardless of the reason. If this becomes a pattern, then we can complain but two shows, no way.

You're wrong, Breath. SS was getting write ups in magazines and being called "the next supergroup" along with Audioslave. I saw them mentioned on Good Morning America and also CNN. Azoff absolutely held them back. Don't believe me? ask Schon himself.

If Haley's Comet came around every year (sometimes on multiple occasions) no one would care. It's a big deal when it comes around every 76 years because it's a once in a lifetime (no more than twice) opportunity to see it - same thing with a Perry performance.

We don't know for sure if it was due to lack of ticket sales. If it was, I don't blame him or the promoter canceling.

Lame. What if Springsteen canceled the United Center in Chicago for two nights because, "he wanted to rehearse" for whatever reason? He would killed by the media, and rightfully so. However, he is a consummate professional. Schon, who I respect the Hell out of his playing, lacks the inner character, the will to do the right thing where others are concerned. Look at FU..she is stuck with airline tickets to nowhere because of a lazy attitude. If he didn't want to play these venues real bad, he shouldn't have taken Ticketmaster's, the venue's and his Mgr's time. He should have never scheduled it. No pass here, no way.

Bullshit.

Neal was drunk at the time too.

Also, Neal was the only "star" in the band. A Supergroup means there is more than one star/members from multiple name acts.

You miss the entire point. Like FU said earlier, a St Pattys Day will always fill up any and every bar. Like Matty said, Lukather had scheduled these bar tours and he stood by it and showed up, even when there were a handful of peeps there. So what you are saying is he should only tour with Journey because they are guaranteed 3 thousand a show...so no real embarrassment there I guess.

If Neal isn't the one posting on his facebook (which I agree), I doubt he's the one booking his gigs. That's management and the promoters. I doubt he had much say in canceling these gigs as well.

As far FU booking airfare, no offense that's her problem. I doubt anyone involved in these shows was anticipating fan(s) flying in to see these shows. However, if I were her, I would still go to Denver. I hear it's lovely this time of year.

No dude. Neal isn't even a star. A tremendous talent to be sure, but Marco Mendozza is every bit the bassist as Schon is a guitarist. No points here either.

Please don't give up though, this is easy argument for me.

Maybe the bar cancelled, figuring the would have a full house. Why pay money for a major act.

Luke ain't Neal too (as far as popularity/their band). IF it was ticket sales, Neal has more pride than others. He doesn't want to be a Soto.

#1 Luke FILLED the places he played and then some. He booked small places because by his own admission, he was unsure of turnout. The dude was misting up at the end of the show because the little venue he played here was literally shaking with applause and standing Os.

#2 Luke definitely has more name recognition as a guitarist than Neal does. Journey is bigger than Toto. But, Luke is definitely more renowned in guitar circles.

Also, why would the bar cancel if they have a full house? Huh? Am I missing something?

I bet Soto would have kept the date.

It's just wrong on Schon's part, and Tito, you tick turd, if isn't Schon posting on his own face book(it's not because whomever it is can construct a proper sentence), he (Schon) better step up and take charge. It's his name out there, not the anonymous FB guy.
