No it's not. I staked my fucking name to this thing
Never understood why.
Dean, I've never understood why either. I read your explanation re if your favorite guitarist were playing to a tape by himself and then the tape stopped and there he or she was totally exposed... I understand your point but you've never tried to understand those of us who are fans of Journey going back to the early 70s--Neal's (Journey) body of work is so vast that if they had to use a tape in an emergency on a tour then okay they used a tape in an emergency. It doesn't take away from Journey's (Neal) stature as one of the best rock bands (musician) on the planet. I wish sometimes you would respect that view especially when you go down to the Journey forum and start swinging.
No way. That's like saying a person lived an exemplary life, but somewhere along the age of say 60, he committed rape or killed someone. Not saying Journey killed anyone, but the disrespect they showed rock n roll is unfathomable. At least to me it is. If you are a true band, with true talent, you don't stoop to this trickery. We'll have to agree to disagree here.
Fredinator, your comment about "having to use tape in an emergency" doesn't hold water. They did it for 2-3 years. Had it been a true emergency, they would have finished off the current tour with tape and then fixed the damned problem, not carried on with it. Who knows, if they hadn't been called on this, maybe Augeri would still be in the band and they would be doing the same exact act? No one can answer that definitively.
