Help me customize my 1994 NHL All Star jersey.

Postby Squidward24 » Fri Mar 12, 2010 6:45 am

Alrighty, I have a 1994 All Star Game jersey, authentic with fight strap, both NYC shoulder patches but no name. I am going to send it in to get a name on it, but not sure which one. You can view the roster and see a nice picture of the shoulder patch here:

1994 NHL ASG

You can see what the jersey looks like here it's the best I can find:

1994 NHL ASG / Wayne Gretzky

I am leaning towards Chris Chelios, however I currently have eight Chelios related jerseys (Montreal, Chicago, Detroit, NHL ASG and Olympics/World Cup) so I don't see a need for ANOTHER Chelios jersey. I have pics posted on Facebook, just not sure how to make them viewable to the public.

So you the hockey faithful, regardless of which is your favorite team get to pick from the 5 players above all of which I am considering. I will leave the poll up for 3 days and then see what you think. Then re-post with the survivors until only one remains. After that when I send it in to get customized I will post pics.

Simple, if I put who I want (Chelios) it's like going with the safe and familiar. So, of those five people any of them would be cool. I would be happy with any so I thought I'd open it to other people. Maybe I was wrong in my assumption that people might find it fun.

Ok fine, I will make the choice myself. Chelios it is, wow talk about anti climactic.

A few points.

1- Can't be Gilmour, as he played for Toronto, and they were an Eastern team. You need to make sure if you have Western or Eastern jersey dude.

2- I kind of knew of Bure when I was in Vancouver for a few years on and off. He was an asshole and that city disowned him. That speaks volumes; if Vancouver doesn't want you, you must be an asshole. He never played hurt and had no heart. Typical Russian. He then turned around and called Vancouver a racist town.

3- Chelios is what, 48 now? I believe he just called up today from the minors and is now on Atlanta's roster. Pretty amazing.

Monumental feat, eh? Dude just has this American Indian blood in him, or that's what he says, that keeps him going strong. I imagine the really good players, like Sidney Crosby, Ovechkin or the Sedin boys can make him look pretty silly on the ice right now, but my hats off to him.

Edit: My bad. Toronto at that time was a Western Conference team. So Dougy Gilmour is a possibility.

Other then Cheli, Doug is not far behind in my choice. I remember those days well when the Leafs were in the WC, good times seeing them come around.

No mention of Bruins greats Cleon Daskalasis and Bob "Gets By" Doak (as in...Lemieux takes the puck at center ice...he's got a one on one...gets by Doak...shoots, and scores!!!"
But around town, it was well known...when they got home at night
Their fat and psychopathic wives
Would thrash them within inches of their lives!

Chelios is Greek (Christos Tselios), just beat a DUI (when he was obviously shit-faced  ) and went to my high school before he moved.

I can't believe he's still playing. Detroit was barely playing him and finally dropped him. He took up with the Chicago Wolves and went through two 25 game tryout periods, then signed with Atlanta. I'm pissed - he was my favorite player for a long time and I could have seen him play again for $9/game  - the Wolves play 15 minutes from me. Kept meaning to go...
