I'm surprised it took this long for someone to bombard Facebook with viruses. It's a huge target with 200,000,000 users.

I saw several of my FB friends get totally hosed.

The virus is not on Facebook - it's in a link within an email sent to Facebook users

http://www.reuters.com/article/idUSTRE62G5A420100318

Anybody stupid enough to open random/suspect links and attachments (and no, I don't mean the one I just posted above  ) or stupid enough to not properly protect their computer deserves to be attacked.

Sorry - I'm not usually so mean  - but I deal daily with the aftermath of people having their banking information 'stolen' because of their own stupidity.

St John you have moved up to deranged with that last post to Jason . I would hate to tell you the # of Facebook members world wide. Many of you are just slightly off. I am still laughing. To think I could post a serious topic here. I am sending myself to my room.

I've seen viruses on Facebook in the form of wall posts with links to photos from infected friends. Also seen the same technique used on Yahoo Messenger. Both had subjects similar to "Hey, check out this photo I found of us!" Really tricky, but if you look closely at the link, you'll see it points to a zip file instead. Get it, and it immediately propogates to your bud list.

Viruses on Facebook aren't unexpected given the amount of indiscriminate poking going on over there. :)

Can you clarify? Messages in your Sent Items box? If it's just your account that got hacked, changing your password to a good and complex one may be enough, but also scan your PC for Trojans that could be logging your keystrokes.
