Postby yulog » Thu Mar 25, 2010 1:00 am

I know a while back people were talking about getting a blu-ray player when the price comes down. Well, here is your chance to get one. Trust me it wont last long at this price ,especially with the free shipping.

$60 is a steal http://www.amazon.com/Sylvania-NB530SLX ... 444&sr=8-1

Nightbull: I noticed your sig line & I got a question you might can answer. What does it mean on Facebook when you "poke" someone? I keep seeing the same invite telling me to "Poke so-n-so." :? What's that mean? Is that the same thing as a PM over here?

The world may never know. LOL!!

Yep, I'm still a newbie too. I got a whole whopping 8 friends. I aspire to reach the double digits soon. Actually, that's not entirely true. I added some girl I don't know & things quickly turned weird so I had to block her. IDK.... Maybe she wanted me to "poke" her. It was a short lived situation, but now I'm reluctant to add anyone else.

I don't do the facebook thing, but I thought this was funny!! Perhaps it will help you
out ...

A poke could mean any of the following:

hey there
how are you doing?
i’m too busy to write you an email or call, but i’m thinking about you
holy crap, did you hear the Red Sox won the ALCS?
just sent you an email; check it out
hey let’s go have a beer
did you finish that project yet?
hey, why haven’t you written me an email / wall post lately?
i just wrote on your wall, check it out
we’re in a poke war, and no way i’m blinking motherfucker.. back atcha!
gee, you’re cute
i don’t really care about you that much, but i’m poking you anyway to make you think i do <This is what TNB's Pokes mean!! :D
hey respond to my email dammit
i don’t know who you are, but you’re cute
just broke up with my ex, looking for a one-night stand/rebound
let’s have sex
you’re way outta my league & i have no chance of having sex with you, but maybe you’ll poke me back anyway
yo, what up?

Poking has been around since Facebook's early days, back when it was only open to college students, under Poke it used to say "I'll think of something useful for this later" written by the webmaster. I would guess it's just kind of a running joke now with the FB developers. It means nothing other than basically "hi".
