I certainly do - got my Cavs of course entering the playoffs as the #1 overall seed, and the talent level and parity in the NBA really good right now - very deep. Look for some great first-round series this year in both the Eastern and Western conferences (especially the West).

The NBA has been spiralling downward for years. It's hard to believe that anyone gives a shit about this supposed sport. Fundamentals were gone when I used to root against the Bulls during their championship runs. They were 1 of probably 3 teams that were fundamentally sound at the time. Now, that's probably down to one ... the Lakers.

I watched the Cavs and Hawks the other day (what a mistake that was!) and was horrified by what I saw. Tons of talent on both teams, but no fundamentals, no court sense by either team and about as much teamwork as a Jew and Palestinian in a phone booth. The league is illegitimate. It was already illegitimate as far as back as the Bulls championships. The era of basketball being a real sport ended with the Pistons' "Bad Boy" teams. The Bulls took over and steamrolled a league marred by selfishness, overpaid thugs, teams that played no defense and on court stat hogs. The Bulls cared about winning and the only other teams during their run that played good basketball were Houston and Utah ... and they were fading dinosaurs. The NBA is now a joke and a championship is about as much of an accomplishment as winning the CFL.

Another thing I noticed is the league's incessant desire to force black coaches into the league. The coaches on the Cavs and Hawks are awful and you should protect your investments better. When it comes time to be "x and o" coaches and make in game playoff adjustments ... they'll fail. If Phil Jackson, Pat Riley, Don Nelson, KC Jones or Lenny Wilkens (who got their jobs on merit) or Jerry Sloan had the talent of Lebron and co. they'd have a championship by now. But he hasn't been groomed into a clutch/carry the team/take the game over type player in the playoffs. Late in playoff games he looks lost. Maybe that'll change this year. At any rate, fuck the NBA. White people that fill those arenas need to wisen up.

I'd add Utah and Boston to that list. Jerry Sloan's teams have always had pretty good fundamentals. As much as I hate the Celtics, they should be on that very short list also.

THE NBA used to be great... but letting all the college kids come in when there not ready and pay them millions of dollars before they get on the court... has really killed the league... the game was great back in the 70s and during the magic johnson Larry bird days of the 80s and 90s you had amazing runs by the celtics and the lakers... everyone cared about the game... now all the players care about is their money... no loyalty to the teams...carrying guns all over the place... gambling 25,000 and not worrying about the consequenses...most arenas half full... I havent watched an NBA GAME I dont know how long. I cant stomach the NBA.

The Jizz have a shot this year. The west is wide open and the Lakers are a complete mess.

I pick Orlando to win it all.

That's as much as I woill comment on this abortion of a game. It's just so fake, so obviously rigged. I made this argument for years and even Crazy Deb came around and said she agreed with me. Also, having an referee admit to fixing games doesn't put out the conspiracy theories.

Whewww...After 10 minutes searching I finally dug this thread from the trash... Anyway, Celtics vs. Cavs, that would be an interesting series. I'll take Cavs in 5.
