Gee, what a shock she'd be addicted to a substance(s) of her choice.

It's a lot like buying a really used car - you might be getting a great value, but you know there are gonna be some serious problems under the hood!

Actually its more than just a used car. Its a used car bought from Hertz. Way too many miles put on it by way too many drivers and warranty! AS IS!

Good point.

On a related note, I was driving to work the other morning and they posted some survey that supposedly said the modern day young woman dates "40 to 61 men on average" before finding "Mr Right"  . Women, what do you think? WTF?! I simply don't believe that figure for men or women. If you have to date 40 to 61 people before you find someone, maybe that's on you or at least your judgment  . Moreover, that's definitely used goods. Ugh. That's sickening. Hot dog down a hallway anyone?

Let me ask you this. If a guy has dated 41 to 61 women, is HE used goods too? Im just asking because I always feel there is a double standard with this kind of thing. A guy can screw as many women as he wants because hes a "guy" but if a woman does she's nasty and "used goods".
YES!!!!

I knew you'd ask that Lynn  . Yes, I think the guy is gross too. Admittedly, many others may not. Let's put aside the sexual stuff for a minute though.

Seriously, isn't a figure like that telling about our society/the state of family and marriage in this society if true? (I don't believe it is).

Could this just be about the fact it just might be really hard to find a good guy these days?

Well, I don't think it's men only. I just think the general disrespect of the family unit and the aversion to marriage (largely due to high divorce rates etc), combined with the feminists' encouraging women to "fuck like men" makes people afraid of being in solid relationships, so they fuck around a lot knowing full well the relationship isn't going anywhere past some decent sex. Thus, you get studies with ridiculous figures like that. I mean shit, assume a woman dated in the upper end of that supposed average - 61. Let's even be generous and say it got far enough for sex in just HALF of the relationships. I doubt many people here have slept with 30 different people in their lives.

It's more or less just the way people of both sexes are "told" (if subconsciously) to behave in my generation. Like I said, if that study is anywhere near accurate, it's just kinda sad.

It's good that women have a lot more equality nowadays and can work any career of their choosing and I hope to find a woman who will work hard on her own. But, the injection of the more extreme of the feminist values into mainstream society came at a pretty high price to the family and dating relationships/views towards dating. I think both men and women behaviors in that context have really taken a turn for the worst largely as a result of that extreme stuff.

I don't know. Im the wrong person to answer this I guess. I met my husband when I was 21, and the whole bar scene, player thing is all foreign to me. I dont' understand or pretend to understand men or women  Even if I was single, I wouldn't date that many men. I was very picky just on who I would DATE, without sex, pre-marriage. I think I would still be that way.

Oh, and Matt. Do you really think I didnt' get into ANY bars before I was 21? Back in the late 80's, it really wasn't hard to get into our downtown campus bar in Erie underage  And I may have gone to NY a couple of times too, since I was grandfathered in to drink there at 18. It was a weird loop hole in the law and my birthdate was just the right timing. I could drink beer in Ohio at 18 too, thanks to my birthdate  ONLY beer though :?

Man, buying a chick a drink is such a lame pickup imo, at least when it comes to initiating something. Can't believe how many dudes pull this shit off without laying any groundwork first. I love watching a dude buy a (seemingly) single woman a drink at a bar, only for her to turn and walk back to her boyfriend and/or friends as soon as it's in her hands

Yeah, Meadville wasn't too tough either  . I had this horrendous fake that I used and all my best friends were a year older than me. Then, the year they graduated, they were at our favorite bar during graduation week and the bartenders are goin "Where's Matt?!" This fake ID I used said I was 27 when I was actually 19/20, said I was from New Jersey, and looked nothing like me other than brown hair... not to mention the lamination job on the ID itself was horrendous. Now, I don't think I look super young, but I definitely don't look old for my age by any means and I certainly wouldn't have passed for 27 at 19   . Hilarious

What's 3.2 beer? I just know that my bday month and year was the last month and year that a person 18 could drink beer there. No liquor just beer which is so dumb! I think the law must have changed around when I turned 18? My birth year is 1968.

I guess they just started cracking up on hearing I was in the class year below my best buds

EDIT: Re: Ohio beer. You talkin about the 3.2 beer? Figured that was gone by the time you were that age.

What's 3.2 beer? I just know that my bday month and year was the last month and year that a person 18 could drink beer there. No liquor just beer which is so dumb! I think the law must have changed around when I turned 18? My birth year is 1968.

I think there used to be beer with that alcohol content that 18+ could drink, but also heavier by content beer that you had to be 21 to drink. My parents have told me about it. I might be wrong about the number, but I think the general idea is right.

Yeah, Meadville wasn't too tough either  . I had this horrendous fake that I used and all my best friends were a year older than me. Then, the year they graduated, they were at our favorite bar during graduation week and the bartenders are goin "Where's Matt?!" I guess they just started cracking up on hearing I was in the class year below my best buds

I edited more up above  We drove over the PA line to a bar in NY so those of us under 21 could drink. Only my friends bday was after mine, and she wasnt' "grandfathered" in the law even though her bday was 2 months after mine. So I went in, and then someone brought my ID out to her, and she used my ID to get in too. And the guy had a flashlight and a book of state drivers licenses. And he STILL didn't notice  I think he was checking the ID and the date so much he forgot to look at the picture  We are both brunettes, but I don't think we looked alike or anything

This fake ID I used said I was 27 when I was actually 19/20, said I was from New Jersey, and looked nothing like me other than brown hair... not to mention the lamination job on the ID itself was horrendous. Now, I don't think I look super young, but I definitely don't look old for my age by any means and I certainly wouldn't have passed for 27 at 19   . Hilarious

 And we thought for sure we were sunk at that bar because he had a book and a flashlight. We thought great, we'll never get away with this. And then in walks my friend
