Offering it up for public consumption is 'broadcasting'. Ask Napster....that's how the law was read when they lost their case.

And, I ask you to show me a case where some lowly nobody was taken to court for copying any media for their own use....not for uploading to a toreent, not for some Napster clone...copy to a DVD and stick on some shelf in their basement.

Demonoid and Jamtothis wouldn't be for you then. They require you to maintain a favorable share ratio in order to download.

Demonoid doesn't.

The ratio system is purely statistical and somewhat innacurate for the ones with shared or dynamic ips. Besides what other users may think of you for not sharing, there is no punishment for having a low ratio.

Wow. I didn't know that changed It used to be you had to be at least 60 percent share ratio. I haven't logged into there for awhile. There was a British show that I loved but they didn't have it on Amazon or Amazon UK so I would end up downloading the DIVX broadcast from Demonoid. Now that Amazon UK has finally gotten it on DVD (after waiting three years) I haven't been back.

EXCLUSIVE: The war against movie piracy is getting downright explosive. We've learned that the producers of the Oscar-winning "The Hurt Locker" are preparing a massive lawsuit against thousands of individuals who pirated the film online. The case could be filed as soon as tomorrow.

I wonder what became of it? I think they're blowing smoke. How are they gonna track these people?
