AT&T caps phone data usage with new wireless plans

I dropped my original land line and went with Vonage for my home and business numbers (I work from home). I added back a bare-bones land line for around $10 per month for the same reasons - natural disasters, etc...

My brother did the Vonage thing for his house, since they have cells anyway, just to cut down the phone bills - that's probably something I will do if I choose to have a landline again. It's certainly cheap enough.

Unlimited international calling...even to Australia...

I'm silly, I was reading the article like "oh $25 I could totally get an iPhone" until I realized that's ONLY for the Internet part of it.

Stupid crazy phone prices. I'll never be able to afford a smartphone.

I agree, why so much? After the cell towers and other equipment is paid for, the rest is easy gravy for the cell phone companies.
