Evidenced by the past, Journey is very loyal to their lead singers and I would think the job is Arnel's until he wants to give it up. But, if they did decide to make a change for whatever reason, Lambert would probably be a huge hit with them.

say that to JSS...

I would. He did a nice job filling in.

LOL. Too funny.

If Perry or Lambert wanted the job, Arnel would fired in an instant.

They are very loyal to MONEY, not anything else.

It's a business. Money always comes first. That said, they've had 3 lead singers in the last 30+ years. The first 2 blew out their voices. What the hell are they supposed to do? :?

They wouldn't fire Arnel for Lambert. Couldn't you see the look on Neal's face at Adam prancing around up there in glitter and eyeliner. NOT knocking his vocals, but in Journey?

Oh yea, i could see Neal as happy as ever to have a singer who can flat out fill up arenas and hit notes as clearly as day that don't even appear on the spread sheet. Oh yea, i'm sure once all those Glamberts, Journey fans and new fans jump aboard the world would crown a new star. One Adam Lambert. Fuckers vocals would kill not to mention his fricken showmanship. Are you kidding me.

Have to agree with you there. Can't see him fronting Journey, but probably for opposite reasons. Lambert's got too much of a "c*ck of the walk" Robert Plant type stage presence to go the Journey pop route. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bbXojMEvais What a friggin great rock voice @ around 2:10. Would rather see Lambert cut a hard rock album next.

They would never fire Arnel for Adam. Lambert wouldn't be a team player for an older existing band. He's a young buck and has a different energy that you have when starting out in your career. He's not a good fit for Journey and how to fit into a long-term band. Steve Augeri and Arnel have the personalities to blend in with an established band. Arnel is younger than the members so brings an energy, but is old enough to appreciate the gig.

After almost 25 in the game, Soto's "stage presence" has yielded bar gigs in Europe.

So are a lot of them that have been in the game for 25-30 years, even some of your faves like Rik Emmett, Jimi Jamison, Lou Gramm, Vince Neil, Neal Schon......some very talented 80s/90s guys are playing bars and casinos on their own when not under the "band names" they were/are in, like Triumph, Survivor, Motley, Mr. Big, Journey. So I'm not exactly getting your point here? :?

Survivor with Jamison wasn't doing any better.... Actually, they seem to play the same whether it was with Bickler, Jamison, or the new guy.

Personally, I like the smaller gigs better. One disadvantage of drawing 15,000 people is that a VERY small percentage of those know anything more than the hits. With the smaller crowd, that percentage has the possibility to go way up.

That's a helluva a comeback. If anyone should be embarrassed, it should be Schon. Playing with a big band all these years and then selling 13 tickets to the LA House of Blues show was an epic achievement. At least he was smart enough to not even play the Denver show due to the 6 tickets sold there. Jeff never played with anyone big, so the onus here is on established guys who have name recognition, and Schon fails miserably.

I think you're wrong on both counts. Perry can't sing like he did anymore and Lambert is not Journey material.
and........I doubt the band wants to go round 3 after the past.

No, I think they are wrong on one count, concerning Lambert.
The legacy of Journey is not a karaoke contest where whoever can imitate the pitch of original recording wins. Even if it turns out that SP's voice is toast, the only ones who are going to promote the Perry can't sing angle are the pinheads who are outnumbered by the hardcore and casual fans fans 20 to 1. If Perry wanted back in, I think Azoff makes that call, not Neal. If Irving can get 3 or 4 stadium shows with Perry on board, I say Pineda is told to take a 12 month vacation, to be brought back at a later date after the reunion run is done and Azoff is done politicizing the R&R HOF.

I read on the official board that with the exception of TDTWT, most of the new songs were edited out of the Palladia Broadcast. Is this true?
Also, from what I understand, Palladia only broadcasts in 1080i, not 1080p so a Blu-ray release still needs to happen for anyone to even get close to the 4HD experience that was being talked about during production.

I saw this new photo of him. Adam, Adam, Adam, tone it down. You're looking like Boy George. Yeah, he would never have been a good frontman for Journey.

Adam in Journey? No way.

Looks like that picture may be something of a promo shot for his latest video (which I happen to love :) ) - very similar attire. It's show biz, ya know?

A friend of mine who has been a Journey fanatic since we were in high school sent me a message on FB asking me if I had seen this. I told him, of course, that I hadn't but didn't go into much detail as to why. Here was his review:

It stinks. This is the worst version of Journey that I've ever heard. The two other guys were able to be their own artists and carry the essence of the songs. This guy just can't get it done. It doesn't help that the mix for this show is terrible. All you can hear is Neal and this Douche. YUCK!

OMG! Dan, are you joking? Loyal? Bullshit. And before you go on about how they waited for Perry, I once again call bullshit. Not because they waited for him, which I agree that they did. But it wasn't out of loyalty, IMO. It was about knowing where your bread is buttered. Should they have waited so long? Many say no, and they may be right. Look at how SA was thrown under the bus, and how JSS was treated (regardless of whether you consider him a fill-in or not :x they should've handled his dismissal better, especially given his history with Neal).

I believe if there was a bigger and better deal on the horizon, Arnel would be back on a plane to Manila in no time flat. Of course, then folks here would either revolt because their guy was gone, or say 'it's just business' and go with the flow. In both those scenarios, the only loyalty shown would be the fans'.

 Do you sometimes feel like this?! Image

Mind you it's probably one of THE funniest posts he has made in awhile. Journey, loyal to it's lead singers???!! Bahahahahahahahaha!

Hmmmm...we need a term for the ones who actually believe this....how about delusional???

We need a term for the poster who's only contribution to MR is when she/he chimes in to either 1. put down current Journey or 2. remind everyone how Steve Perry is the king of all things music/life/ect......

I DVR'ed it and it was the full show. I didn;'t love it, but I liked it enough to watch it a couple of times. Arnel sounds fine, but this is a below average mix happening.
