They are now the Yankees of the NBA. Whereas real teams like the Red Sox build up their championships with trades, the minor leagues, and a minimum of big free agent moves, teams like the Yankees, Devils, Cowgirls, and the Heat aren't smart or good enough to do it the old fashioned way, so they just purchase titles. These titles Miami just purchased are only going to cost several hundred million dollars. Digusting.

But around town, it was well known...when they got home at night
Their fat and psychopathic wives
Would thrash them within inches of their lives!

You hit on a very important point. The NBA labor agreement is up after next year. How are these teams(all but 4 lose money), going to explain how they are hemorrhaging money to the tune of millions upon millions a year. We're talking anywhere from 10-40 million dollar losses by most teams. I think it's awesome. The NBA is going to see that the way they run a league isn't going to work.

Really? Still have to beat LA nd that is never happening with Kobe Bryant on the Lakers. Besides, Miami isn't getting all three anyway.

Really? Boston was a Kendrick Perkins injury away from beating L.A.

I love the way you forget that the best player on the planet was at about 50%.

"... he (Kobe) was playing with a severely injured right index finger, also known as the finger most important to shooting. When you remember that little factoid, making any shots with a completely retooled release is impressive. But that's Kobe Bryant for you — doing whatever he can to perform at a high level.

As it turns out, that dedication might have cost Kobe a finger. No, it's not like he's going to lose it, but it's definitely going to be a pain in the hand for the next 50 years of his life. The Orange County Register's Kevin Ding has the tragic tale of the damaged digit.

For Bryant, the sacrifice for success could well be visible for the rest of his career in the form of something that is not another championship ring to go around his finger.

He might never play again without wearing support for his damaged right index finger.

The middle knuckle on that critical finger on Bryant's shooting hand is so debilitated by arthritis after the past season of misuse and overuse that there may be no real way to fix it. Bryant will consult with specialists in July to figure out his options, but arthritis is not a problem that can just be cleaned up with arthroscopic surgery or wished away with a little rest."

Like I've been telling the clowns trying to piss me off with texts and facebook messages and the like tonight, I really don't care that much. I'm sad to see him go for one reason: He brought great economic benefit to the city of Cleveland during the cold winter months.

He is not a winner. We were not going to win with him. We would have had some more exciting regular seasons, and that's the extent of it. In the long run, I'm glad that the putrid stench of his malignant narcissism will finally be gone. I'm one of the few in Cleveland who consistently and vociferously criticized the buffoon for 2 years. I saw him for what he was. It hurts to be so right all the time. In the short run, the city will hurt a bit and I really feel for our owner, who has put together a great organization. His only mistake was ceding too much power to this out of control narcissist.

I agree with you here 100%, but don't you think ESPN is just as fucking guilty? Their coverage of all things Lebron was nauseating to say the least.

Yes... but Gilbert let the guy have too much say in day to day operations, gave his friends cushy jobs in the Cavs organization, let them fly around on the team jet, etc etc. The potential monster was there when they anointed him the King at 16. The Cavs birthed that monster and then some by kowtowing to every single demand and need. But yes, all the media shit doesn't help.

Just in general, it makes you ponder the classic chicken-egg question. With all the media pining for LeBron to leave the "small market" for years, did they eventually influence it into happening ? Or was it a foregone conclusion? Things we'll never know and even the players themselves will probably never know.

I'm just glad it's over. It's like knowing a breakup is coming for weeks and you're just waiting for it to happen.

The only good thing I see happening here is Miami selling out, instead of always seeing the banks and banks of empty red seats. You want to guess how much bling and blow is going to be in that building every game night? Every rapper, pimp, and gangsta in that shithole town will be t every game. If I was a Miami cop, I could make my monthly arrest quota just by going to a few Heat games.

If you use the logic of buying championships, then the Washington Redskins should be well over 13 titles by now. It's not about who you buy, it's using them the right way and trying to create a place for each superstar that can put the team in the best position to win. The head coach will have his hands full with 3 superstars that are destined for greatness on one team, but right now, it seems they all have a good head on their shoulders in taking much less than they could have earned figure wise to win a championship.

None of this matters, the pressure is now on these guys and failure of not winning the title within a 3 year span could back break anyone of these players careers. We'll wait and see when they hit a rough spot together, and then we'll see if they can co-exist. Pressure is monumental.

I am truly in shock ...I just knew he had, at least, enough integrity to make this built~up self promotion
extravaganza about his dedication to Cleveland!!
So sorry, Matty, LA, all Cleveland fans ...I'm sick for you!! :(

Dude, they're taking about a million and change less per asshole. Combine that with the fact Bosh and James now won't have a provincial and state tax to pay now, respectively, they will come out making the maximum anyway.

True, and I bet they also determined within their descision the amount of additional pay they receive with every win in the playoffs including the NBA championship that everyone is anointing them already.
