Mel Gibson obviously has HUGE issues with his own mother. When he talks to his wife in this hostile way, he is raging at his own mother. He probably has full-blown borderline personality disorder.

He has something mental, that's for sure. To say he wanted to take a baseball bat to her head and about her dysfunctional c....t. Whoa. She just had a baby. I just wonder will he get the help he needs and maybe get on meds? Everybody is saying he will go in rehab and do a mea culpa, but I don't believe he will. He's wealthy. He doesn't need his career, really, and I don't believe he truly recognizes his issues. He seems to blame everyone else. But when he threatened her with burying her in the rose garden, that's frightening. And it's sad, really.

What a complete and utter out-of-control psycho! Who knows her story though? It wouldn't surprise me a bit if she wasn't playing innocent for the tape she was recording -- she sounds much too calm to be genuine. She may well be a money-hungry sociopath who really pissed him off, but he really sounds to me like he's back on the bottle and he's damn sure a nutcase.

I can understand that completely, and I wouldn't try to defend Mel in a million years on this one. It's just that since she knows she's recording him, obviously she's going to make sure she seems as innocent, calm and reasoned as possible. There's one thing really missing, and that's any mention by him of examples of how she's "ruined his life" (except for dressing like a Vegas slut and lying about having breast implants). He's obviously really worked up about something in a huge way. I kinda suspect she's a really good manipulator who knows exactly how to push his buttons, and he doesn't know how to handle it so he's falling into her trap. She also has a child with Bond actor Timothy Dalton. Maybe she's probably a star-f***er looking for a payday.

She could be all of those things and then some, but he still has no right to hit her or threaten her with death. He's disturbed and he needs to go away for a while and get some kind of treatment. Maybe his "church" can do something for him.

If she really is a star **** then I'm sure T. Dalton would come around with some "amens" to that. She probably is tired of being abused and beaten by Mel and in the city of dreams nobody cares too much what you have to say if there's nothing really shocking to go along with it. So, she figures why not engage in a conversation with him and let him have it; she did indeed know what to say since they've probably gone round with it many times in the past. If she's been beat and had her teeth knocked out and after telling the dentist she got nowhere then perhaps the next thing to do is to tape a conversation which can be entered into as evidence and just let the world know what an abusive hateful man he is. She's surely not dumb but she probably is tired of being beaten, shaken and abused. Actually she has helped the man get the help he needs; nobody else has been brave enough to say anything. People just let him run loose, get drunk and beat women. It's about time and maybe it won't put more than a dent into his armour at least people know that the man is a simmering spewing man filled with anger and rage.

You don't notice how unnatural their faces and positions look? From the edges of her face and the weird smudges on her neck, she's clearly not actually standing in front of him and that probably isn't their bodies either. Most movie posters/covers are doctored... some are just more obvious than others...

To push his buttons into rage for her own benefit. They are promoting her music now on the rag shows so predictable! The words he chose were wrong, but I choose wrong words sometimes too. That's exactly what I'm saying, and to answer BobbyInTN, I'm definitely not excusing Mel for anything. He's apparently an out-of-control ape and he deserves what's coming to him. But so does she if she baited him -- it's called "karma". No excuses for Mel, but I still want to hear his side of the story to find out what he's so pissed off about. You don't threaten to burn down a house or plant someone in a rose garden for lying about having breast implants.

The tabloids love villain/victim stories so they always put someone in the good role vs. the bad role. It's almost never that simple, and neither are they sincere because they also love to flip the script and expose their victims as villains and visa versa when it suits them to sell more mags.

Of course! That's just like Lindsay's ex-attorney Shawn Holley telling Marcia Revel she has no idea how their private talks in the judges chamber kept getting leaked to the media as soon as they left the courtroom.

My sister and I, when we were in our early twenties, dated law partners, who were from the same hometown. Her boyfriend had a vicious father who cheated and Tom hated him. But he was just like his father. While seemingly charming and handsome if you knew him casually, he was cruel to his girlfriends at times beyond comprehension, very sick behavior. My sister says Mel reminds her of Tom. And once she finally moved on he was even meaner. My boyfriend, much, much older than me, who had such an absolutely charming and giving side, had another side that was horrible. He never said the kinds of things Mel did, but he was so emotionally abusive and controlling, and I was so young that he had me believing there was something wrong with. Little perceived slights, like my leaving an empty coke can on the coffee table twice, or bad moods would bring on the cold white anger and he would lash into me belittling me on so many levels. I lived in fear if we had a few good weeks that his anger was coming. I remember once we were on vacation in St. Croix and at breakfast he said I didn't look the waitress in the eyes when responding and he tore into me verbally for an hour and said cruel things about me. But the difference between her boyfriend and mine was when I finally left after five years and outgrew someone like that, he did care about me and wanted me to do well. Both men were playboys who never sustained a happy relationship ever to this day.

So if you think someone has to bait someone filled with rage to act like that, so far from it.
