Stars who lost their looks?!?

Postby Rip Rokken » Mon Jul 26, 2010 10:47 am

This Associated Press feature ran on FoxNews.com a few weeks ago, and they just came back and added more celebs to it. They didn't do any better the second time around.

http://www.foxnews.com/slideshow/entert ... es#slide=1

The intro says:

"Father Time picks who stays pretty, and who does not.

While some celebrities like Demi Moore and Richard Gere seem to get better looking with age, other Hollywood hotties have gone in the other direction - big time.

Click through to see who has seen better days."

There are definitely plenty of celebs out there who have totally ruined their looks, but out of 20-something examples, many of their stars looked pretty great in their "now" pics -- just older (like Sharon Stone, Nicole Kidman, Johnny Depp, etc). Even the examples they gave for stars who truly have screwed themselves up, they didn't use some of the better pics they could have to make their point (like Pamela Anderson, Steven Seagal, etc.). So it's just like they are bashing most of them for not looking 22 anymore. Here's an example in Mischa Barton:

Before / Now

And they say, "She must have left her model looks in Orange County."

What kind of baffoon came up with that crap?

I tell you who they definitely should have included -- Angelina Jolie. Chick looks at least 10 years older than she really is. When she's too thin, her lips look ridiculous.

I do too, Matty!! So does Emilio and many others!! Sharon looks
as though she's aging gracefully and naturally. The media
are a tough crowd, can you imagine being picked apart by them on a
regular basis?!? One day you see your face aging in an article such as this
and the press acts as though it's not a normal part of life, the next day
your knees are being criticized, WTH?!
It is no wonder these stars feel so insecure about themselves
and feel the need to be plastic.

I will say Misha looks like Betty Davis ^^^^up there!! She
doesn't need all that black on those HUGE beautful eyes!!

You can't win with the press. If you get Botox to look 23 again, they'll zing you for that. Bet they wouldn't enjoy the same scrutiny.

Didn't this gal get super strung out on drugs? She's lucky to be alive
NO. He's NOT Steve F'ing Perry. But he's Arnel F'ing Pineda and I'm okay with that.

Demi Moore reportedly spent $3 Million dollars on plastic surgery...

Sigh. We have stars making themselves look like plastic people because they can't leave the knife or the poison alone, but those who accept that they are going to get older, and who let it happen naturally and gracefully - are given a hard time for it. This cult of youth makes no sense whatsover.
Why treat life as a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving in an attractive & well-preserved body? Get there by skidding in sideways, a glass of wine in one hand, chocolate in the other, body totally worn out, screaming WOOHOO! What a ride!

I had my heart set on watching MJ age. Now I can only wonder what he would have looked like in 25 years from now. Bet it would have been really good.

Now they've got one on which stars are the "wrinkliest". More thinly disguised jabs at aging and non-perfection... the link to the article said "The World's Wrinkliest Celebs", and the URL says "stars-need-wrinkle-cream", but you go to the article and the title is "Wrinkled Stars Still Shine" with the large subheader "Not That There's Anything Wrong With It".

I'd really love the opportunity to critque the people who write these articles, they must be perfect humans who never
age, gain weight or look bad. If I could look as good as Meryl Streep, Helen Mirren and Goldie Hawn in my mid 60's,
I'd consider it an honor. Sean Connery and Clint Eastwood are figgin' 80 years old and incredible, still ...and
Pierce Brosnan, he looks better than men half his age. Betty White is almost 90 and still a very
beautiful and funny woman. I'd say this article is dissing the folks who have chosen to age gracefully, except
Michael Douglas has gone under the knife ...this must be a pre~knife photo because he looks great here. :?

He's in that article about "wrinkly" stars. It mentions he looks older than he really is.

Exactly. I've about had it will all this shit. I don't buy celeb magazines or watch those kind of shows anymore for this reason. Who cares if some actress got caught photographed without makeup or had work done or didn't have work done. It's a looks are everything world. No one gives a damn what kind of person you are anymore.

I think this is the result of hard living more than natural aging. She used to be so fresh-faced and naturally beautiful before she went for the F-doll plastic mannequin look and started marrying sleazoids. Now she's just worn out. Huge difference between these two looks:
