Thanks, Melly ... I'd rather hear Jess do original stuff with Loud and Clear, but this Rock Sugar stuff is fun too

My kid LOVES Rock Sugar

Postby chynablue » Sun Aug 15, 2010 2:56 am

My 10 year old is bi-polar and listens to the album whenever he feels like acting out. He LOVES it. They're really turned on to the genre now - not because of "the albums that daddy makes", but cause of their CD. LOL I'm hoping to bring him to Hollywood on Monday & hopefully meet Jess & the guys.

That's way cool ... hope you guys can make it.

I dragged all three of my sons to all sorts of shows from when they were small. Two ended up totally into classic rock; the other one likes ambient techno ... gack!

Looks like there are two bands before Rock Sugar, so it may be a late one ...

Well, that was a blast ... looked for you, Eric, but didn't see you if you were there ...

Standing Monday gig at the HoB, apparently; if I were I a local, I'd be a regular!

Even got a few choruses of Ride Into the Moonlight just for me at the meet-n-greet. Thanks, Jess!

Matt, Jess's vocals are pumped in...at least they were at MRFEST2...that being said, they did a great job otherwise....the crowd loved them.

What a night!

Postby chynablue » Wed Aug 18, 2010 6:31 am

Hi Linda! We called all day but it was clear the kids wouldn't be allowed into the show. But Jess & the guys did us one better, letting the boys come backstage through the "secret Rock Star" door, letting them try on stage clothes & pose with the band! The kids were so nervous & their eyes kept opening WIDE!!! It was a really special night, I posted some pictures and will put up some video soon. My boys LOVE this album and listened to it all night long even before they knew where we were going! What a really great bunch of guys.

Random aside: I just learned yesterday that Jess was one of the voices on "Drawn Together" on Comedy Central. That show needs to come back.

Ok, carry on.
