I loved New Nightmare. I thought it got the series back on track while continuing to play with the reality vs. Dream (vs movie) themes.

A Nightmare On Elm Street is the most overrated horror movie ever. I'd say the original Halloween is, but it's a far superior film to ANoES. I like most of John Carpenter's films, too.

 No, it's not, but I like it, too. I'd say John's best is probably The Thing. My fave, anyway. Prince Of Darkness rocks, too. Now that's a creepy flick.

Not really a horror film, but my favorite John Carpenter film will always be Escape From New York. I HATED the sequel - what a waste.

I LOVE They Live! Rowdy Roddy Piper did a pretty good job. That is actually one movie I could see being remade though. Although, in some ways it is the same story as "V" and we already have a new one of those...

I know Carpenter considers "Ghost of Mars" the worst film he's ever made, but I think the guy's still got it. Out of all the old hands, (Hooper, Romero, Argento, etc), him and Craven are still doing quality horror work. Carpenter's Masters of Horror TV episodes were also kick-ass.

That's like trying to describe rock music. There are so many sub-categories. I guess for me it's any movie that focusses on (attempted) scares, gore, supernatural, evil. But I find nowadays that I prefer 'supernatural suspense/thrillers'...I like a movie that builds tension to help create the scare.

Carpenter's entries for Masters Of Horror were easily better than GoM. That thing stunk. Escape From L.A. wasn't much better, though.

Thoughtful, moody, technically well-executed...but ultimately just not worth the time.

We watched MEET JOE BLACK last night for the first time. Could someone please explain the fuckin' ending of that movie to me?

AND, I hate movies where the majority of the dialog is whispered and the soundtrack is 50 times louder than the actors.

Sorry, just didn't not "get it".

Brad Pitt was 'Death'....He came to earth to see what it was like to live as a human for awhile, he also came to take Anthony Hopkins away...in the meantime he fell in love with Claire Forlani, hopkin's daughter....

Yea, when I heard that Scorsese was finally gonna try his hand at a horror flick I expected greatness. But Shutter Island was a tough slog, with a twist you see coming for miles.

I was like " No!!! Don't go there" - if you want to be filmattically raped by a movie, the ugly twin sister to this movie is "The Uninvited" - I haven't been that angered by a movie watching experience....

LOL! Yes, I got that much, but the end where the body of the man Death took over comes back to life and greets the object of their affection and she says, "I wish you could have known my father, when just seconds before the father had died.

It was CRAZY I tell ya.

Thought the ending was kinda dumb. Pretty good up until that final twist.

It's based on Clive Barker's short story. I like the ending. At least it shows there was an actual purpose to Vinnie Jones' character's killings.

I haven't seen it, but that's some messed-up shit. The sequel is in production, I believe, and is titled The Human Centipede: Full Sequence...!!!!

And if you want to read about a movie that is TRULY fucked up, go Wiki the synopsis of A Serbian Film (that's the actual title). I'll never watch it. I love horror, but that's just some depraved mofo's fucked-up bullshit.

Can't really discuss it without major spoilers, all I can say is the twist is cheap and lazy - true to the original story or not. The film still should have gotten a wide release instead of getting dumped on dvd. Could've made some serious bank during Halloween.

But it's sooo out of left field and sooo lame, that it might as well be. In terms of storytelling, it's a total cop out. You might as well have had the main character wake up and discover that the movie was a dream.
