I love these guys. The performance with Sarah McLachlan is the one I love - I have the PBS special on DVD but here's the clip (not a great one unfortunately).

Didn't Michael Bolton pinch-hit for Susan Boyle and sing this on TV recently? The more I think about it, the more I think a Bolton-fronted Journey could've worked.

I find Bolton's singing on the dull side for the most part...Journey frontman  :? I don't think so

Funny, my sister-in-law just got into a kick of looking up different versions of this the other day after they played it at mass and we were talking about it. My favorite is still the John Cale version (the one in Shrek) but she named a few others that I looked up and there are quite a few really great renditions of it! I like this Canadian Tenors one a lot, too!!

Yeah, everyone and their mother are trying their hand at Hallelujah these days...Bon Jovi in concert (hot performance), Susan Boyle on her new CD (I'm curious how she sounds), Michael McDonald (worst version I've heard so far), just to name a few of the latest. My personal favorite has been Jeff Buckley's haunting take, but The Canadian Tenors are a very close 2nd :)

Could've happened at one point. Like Van Halen with Hagar, maybe an established artist is what Journey needed. Yes, Bolton's stock-in-trade is pussy ballads and motown covers, but that's pretty much where the band went post-Frontiers anyway.
