Heart was solid, fantastic as a matter of fact, as usual. Played three songs off new CD. Crowd was receptive of all.
I had never seen Edgar Winter and had no idea what to expect. All I know is he scared me back in the day. One thing is for certain, I was not expecting a country rocker meets Lawrence Welk. This guy was something else. Anyone seen him??

Edgar and his band played a great set, with heavy southern rock/blues influence. His band was solid. His guitar player, Doug Rappaport, was frickin' amazing. He is listed as being a So Cal guy. Found a little on him on Youtube that did him no justice, but all I can say is Holy Shit.
Edgar played a couple of new songs, Rebel Road, a solid rocker that seemed a bit too much like Rebel Yell, and one would be appreciated here (albeit a bit country), "The Power of Positive Drinkin." He played an extended version of one of Johnny Winter's songs, the highlight being some extended jams and solos.
Must admit I only paid attention to him when he had Frankenstein and Free Ride on the charts, but am now going to have to buy some CDs. He is a legend that flew under my radar.
Heart blew us away again, but we left talkin about Edgar. Great show, great times.
