Anybody see the Bon Jovi Documentary?

Postby Rockindeano » Wed Nov 17, 2010 5:55 am

Just viewed "When we were Beautiful" on Showtime(I am thieving cable, hahaha). Man, these guys are a great group of humans. Great footage, great backstage moments and a very revealing personal side to this. Jon is a good dude. never thought he'd be like he is in this film. Same with Ritchie.

Great band = great fans. You should catch this if you can...even if you have to thieve cable to do it :)

I know you must have seen this Gunbot, and you too Holly (probably scratched yourself during the live parts, eh :) )

Got this last year in a bundle with the new album.

Thought it was very well done and well produced, and enjoyed the insight into the band's inner circle, if you will. Thought it came across as pretty candid and genuine (evidenced by Richie talking about his struggles, and David Bryan's remarks about Jon calling all the shots).

It was pretty good. Watching Bon Jovi Crossroads with Sugarland right now. If Jon would learn to quit singing EVERYTHING through his nose, he'd be a much better vocalist. Sambora- Can't argue with that. Great player. Has way awesome guitar tone and chops. I really want to like these guys, but the cliche' lyrics and Jon's vocal delivery just kill it for me. They've got some great songs but so much stuff I can't get into.
NO. He's NOT Steve F'ing Perry. But he's Arnel F'ing Pineda and I'm okay with that.

Dude...you need to shoot me an email through Facebook to give me the lowdown. I didn't even know this was still possible any longer with all the fancy cable boxes. I have a HD TiVo so maybe there is no way for me to do it, but I'm willing to buy a new box if that's what it takes

Fuck it, I'll tell you right here in open public. I am renting space from a old Jewish couple. They go on Sunday drives every week. They have the entire package- HBO, Showtime, The Movie Channel, all the Fox sports(:)) and Playboy too. As soon as they peeled out of the driveway in their electric golf cart, I hopped up onto the roof, spliced me a "T" into their cable, recoupled it all up, and presto, FREE Cable. Oh I forgot to mention, I "found" a cable box in their garage and it sort of found it's way into my bedroom. :) So yeah, thieving cable is pretty damned easy. I was so drunk the other night I ordered the NHL package! I just hope she has "auto pay" and doesn't actually read the cable bill.( I think she does), because she is going to see a surcharge on there. before any of you cast me to Hell for these poor bahavioural actions, let the record reflect I do many many chores for them and do not get reimbursed. So I figure I should be entitled to watching my Canucks play on the NHL package for free. :) Oh and also, the alternative Playboy channel is much more raunchy than the "classy" Playboy channel. It shows foursomes and gang bangs whereas the regular channel just shows model shoots and Hugh Hefner posing for pictures with Bunnies.

John, you are in Beantown, correct? May I advise you to just find a cable repairman bumping along the streets somewhere, initiate a conversation of sorts, and direct it toward "how fucking expensive special packages are." Dude will most likely say to you that he has a special package for a one time cost :) ....where you then say, "dude, you can hook me up to all access cable for this much?" I have done that before too.

The guy that inspects for illegal cable did mine years ago. It was great until Adelphia went under, then I got a notice from Time Warner asking me to legalize myself or face being cutoff. They still were nice enough to offer a great deal for me to come over from the Darkside (even though they could have just blocked me anyway) so I went legit.

Good point, Donald. The single best and easiest way to thieve TV service is DirectTV. You can buy a chip online for 450 bucks and it lasts a lifetime and you get every fuckin channel known to man. I did that when I was up at Spokane and I enjoyed more porn than humanly possible. I was glued to the tube 24/7, as I had every sports package available.

I remember those DirecTV days Dean, but DirecTV has been hack proof for close to 10 years. You used to be able to "program" the cards to get EVERY channel and every sports package under the sun but they finally caught on. If there is actually a "chip" as you say, please point me in the right direction, so I can do some "testing"

I like her too much and respect her too much as well, to do a trifecta on her. A doubleheader I can see working fine, but not three.

Now is a good time for me to tell you that I love your avatar, dude. Carlin was the most brilliant fucking comedian to ever walk this earth. I still can't believe that fucker is gone. No comedian has ever made me piss myself laughing like that guy. Saw every special he ever recorded and they never get old!

One of his funniest bits ever on "flying on the airlines". Who can't relate to all of this? Turn up the volume and enjoy!
