I agree 100%....BUT....EOTT dwarfs ALL their other tunes combined in respect to Brand, $$$$$$, Licensing, $$$$$, longevity and recognition...no question about it....

When ANYONE describes Survivor they do not say "Yea, the band that did I can't Hold Back"...nope...EOTT...hands down...

But, I still agree with ya...

JV, do you think "Nothing Can Shake Me" is a kick as$ song? I love that tune....Most under rated tune in the history of rock!

Bickler's vocals are haunting on that track.

Thoughts?

I would totally agree with that when he was touring under the Survivor name, but now that he's just touring as Jimi Jamison, I don't think it's so essential. There are enough JJ Survivor hits for him to perform.
Unless he wants to always be known as "the guy who used to be in Survivor," I think he should try to balance his shows a bit better. There are a LOT of good, solid songs on Crossroads Moment, and what better way to get them some recognition than to play them to a captive audience who already loves your voice? My guess is that pretty much anyone who likes what JJ did with Survivor will also like what he did on CM.

In a 13 song setlist, he should do at LEAST 4 or 5 from CM.
He also has some good songs on his previous albums. He could easily do 2 from "Empires," and 1 from "When Love Comes Down" (when I saw him many years ago, he did "Rock Hard" from that album, and it went over quite well.)

So that covers about 8 of 13 songs. To keep the Survivor fans happy, throw in "Didn't Know It Was Love," "The Search Is Over," "High on You," "Can't Hold Back" and end the show with "Burning Heart." (maybe "Rebel Son" could be thrown in there too somewhere.)
Then he'd have a set list that focuses on his current career while still appealing to the people who just want to hear stuff from his Survivor days.

+1

And before anyone says that he has to do EOTT, I even have trouble accepting Robin doing EOTT with the real Survivor 8) . That song is Dave's, signed, sealed and delivered...but that's just me.

I'm a bickler guy through and through, but the difference to me is at the least JJ did a serviceable job on EOTT....McAuley...not so much.....

My vote goes to Santa Ana Winds! That song is Survivor's Hotel California.

For me it'll have to be Take You On A Saturday. Dave's raw scream and Frankie's smoking solo, kills every time. Not forgetting the Bridge with its slow burn respite -little reminiscent of Free's Wishing Well. I think it just absolutely works. (BTW, Dave's fav. vocalist is Paul Rodgers)

"And my love will flow like a river and in gentle waves, we'll come and go like the sea (love the imagery and sentiment here)...and feeling is making me shiver (Dave answer exactly what Im thinking) ooh yeah..."- Then the build up Dave prepares to make way for the solo.
