I just happened to visit my band's page on MySpace...

Man, WHAT THE HECK did they do to MySpace? It's totally horrible....
I closed my band and personal accounts there. Ridiculously bad.

Myspace has lost to TuneCore...

Myspace is so yesterday. Look at how many bands interact on Facebook now, it's the place to be.

Oh, I know this, but in the interest of covering all bases, we had both. However, Myspace just became totally unusable...

I agree. I got on there a couple of months ago, and had all of these people added as my new friends. I didn't add ANY of them, yet there they were! I don't know if they did away with the whole "accept/not now" thing, or if these people somehow bypassed that. Either way, it's fucked up. I hate that it became what it has. It used to be a great place for new bands like myself. :(

um, gee Beshad, I actually have 3 bands and then my own stuff, where I played and sang all the parts for fun- which I think you mentioned that you hated early on (which is fine). I've got a pretty successful Casino act that's I've been a part of for the last 12 years and a few "Music of" projects that are just getting off the ground. Had an acoustic duo going for a bit, but it was a short-term project.

When I sign into Myspace MAYBE once a month, all I get are these requests from sleezy men trying to get me to add them as friends. I guess when you sign in, they can search you by area? Although some are local and some are not. I don't feel like finding the thing I need to do for more privacy, so I just avoid it there. I probably should cancel it someday

I think he was teasing because Jim sounded like he was calling HIMSELF a band, not that he HAD a band

Couldn't agree more! Myspace has been completely ruined for about the last 6 months now...it's clustered, takes forever for pages to load, apps suck, personal pages are confusing - just a complete mess. Maybe it's a facebook conspiracy so they get even MORE users. IDK but I gave up on this once fun social network :(
