The Human Centipede

General Intelligent Discussion & One Thread About That Buttknuckle

If you were part of a human centipede, which segment would you want to be?

The FRONT -- you still get to scream and eat real food
7
88%
The END -- not very charmin', but at least you can still use Charmin
1
13%
The MIDDLE -- probably the most painful, but maybe 2nd Place beats Honorable Mention

The Human Centipede

Postby Rip Rokken » Wed Dec 08, 2010 12:40 am

Every once in a while I need an excuse to stay in my house and avoid yard work, so I watch a film like this to remind me of what's going on every day out there in the world.

Anyone seen this yet? It's definitely the most disturbing film I've seen since Last House On The Left.

If you were forced to be part of a human centipede, which segment would you choose? Any special picks for teammates?

hahaha..."Rufalin"...and "I've found my B"

Definitely disturbing, but I was pretty let down by the time I actually saw the centipede - Rick Baker was needed.

They never removed the bandages, and it looked more like the mouths were positioned a few inches higher than the surgery suggested. I know some actors like to go all-out for realism, but there's only so much a person can do, LOL!

Seen it. The movie is void of any logic. You don't go out in the fucking woods, away from your broken car, and into some Mengele looking guy's house. Watch Martyrs instead. It's the best horror movie of this century.

It's a French movie from 2008 (with English subtitles). If you like really brutal over-the-top violence, then download Inside too. We know our horror movies

Meh, psychological horror is better to me. Is Martyr also a kill fest?

No amount of brutal movie violence is scarier than real life horror.

I will say this. I'll watch anything. I don't scare easy, if at all. But give me psychological horror anyday...however, that being said - Wolf Creek made me uneasy, and I barely made it through that film....to me, the best film of that genre.

Check out Audition if you haven't already. Takashi Miike is more of your ultra voilence type of director (DEAD OR ALIVE) but once in awhile, he can pull off psychological horror when he wants to.

It's purely psychological. The 1/2 part of it is especially bad.

Is that one of those movies with the graphic rape scene? I seem to think it is. If so, count me out. That shit sickens me. I will watch any kind of violence, but those graphic/realistic rape scenes that go on for 2+ minutes are too much for me.

Why? Cause it reminds you of that one night out with Saint John and Journey/Survivor ?

Thanks for the film ideas - I'll have to check out Martyr! Heck, if I can stream it on Netflix I may try tonight.

But nobody wants to be the center-pede sandwiched and sewn together with Jaime Pressley and the Doritos Chick? :)

Just finished watching Martyrs. Verdict: One of the best movies I've seen. It is disturbing, and it is complicated. I have my own theories about it, but don't want to spoil it for others.....

I will say that it really has a thought-provoking ending....

I've got a big horror collection, hundreds, maybe even thousands of movies, and honestly this film to me was more of a comedy, it made me laugh more than anything. But when you have seen everything, I think it's very difficult for movies this day and age to make an impact on the veteran horror fans.

2 big thumbs down for the scare factor.

2 big thumbs up for the comedy, and somewhat originality value.

There's much better films out there... as parfait mentioned, check out "Martyrs" or even "Teeth" for example.

Told you it was good, man. When they are about to leave the house, you think; "What the fuck - this film is 30 minutes long?" - and then shit really hits the fan and takes it to a whole nother level.

There's another French zombie movie which is a pretty cool movie if you're into action/horror. Gonna see if I can find name.

I can't believe it's been almost a month since I posted this -- for some reason, it seems like it was only last week. Oh, well... just finished it and don't have too many nice things to say, really. I'm all up for revenge films, but torture porn isn't my thing, and finding a good revenge film is tougher these days with so many crossing over into the torture genre. I've seen a good handful of them, and figure I've got the point by now. There is a huge difference for me watching evil people get what's coming to them and watching innocent people suffer needlessly for an entire film. I also get turned off by way too much agonized screaming and wailing. Seems that counts for dialog in a lot of these films.

Actually, I've been contemplating adding a higher level of uncouth vernacular to my regular dialog. Probably because I talk that way all the time when I'm alone, and might as well just be myself. Maybe I should start a poll to see if people think I should start cursing more. :)

BTW, the ending softened me up on the film. At least there was a point and we saw what they were trying to accomplish. Doesn't redeem them though, and that whole secret society should be mowed down.

About the only word that doesn't come out of my mouth is "c*nt", because I hate it. Otherwise, when I'm by myself or with friends it's whatever word best fits the mood, the joke, or the crisis of the moment. Usually that's f*ck, sh*t, or G.D.
