BTW, my favorite part of the video has to be Neal's lead at the beginning, then he picks that chord and smiles right when the first vocals come in. Then there is AP interacting with the audience -- always so cool.

All radio edits are selling out as far as I'm concerned. I'll never be able to think of the term "radio edit" again without the abomination of Whitesnake's radio-friendly version of "Here I Go Again" popping into my head. Neutered in the guitar department, and cheesy keys added to please the pink-collar fans.

I don't like most radio edits, but the average listener won't know. Christina Aguilera had a stunning piano-driven ballad with violins in places, and what they did to the radio edit turned me off. They filled in all this cheesy stuff to beef it up and make it more poppy, I guess. I didn't get it and didn't see the point. It wasn't shorter.

So far I've only heard these 5 live versions. Nothing from the finished album at all, but I've heard Andrew's opinions seconded by someone else while I was in Vegas and am guessing they are talking about the same song. It's supposed to be phenomenal. The title of the song matches the theme of the album.

While there appears to be an abundance of love for the new music here and at the other two or three Journey fansites, there's a good chance that 95% of Journey's casual listening audience may feel a lot like you Rick when or if they hear the new music. The stuff here isn't really adult contemporary. Add to the fact that tracks are pretty legthy too, I'm wondering how much Radio play this stuff is going get. It will probably make its way to satllite radio but as that only makes up about 15% of overall listeners, this new direction Journey is going could be a tough sell. Granted the concerts won't suffer because they always have the dirty dozen but I think that their Van Hagar moment passed them by a long time ago.

I was ALMOST at that concert, but just couldn't make it happen. I've got to get unbusy. I don't like busy, don't do busy well, but have been so damn busy. I opted to go see my daughter in Norfolk, which was better than any concert. Even with all of you great people. The trip to Norfolk was for the greater good.

That's my problem with today. These idiots today don't want music that requires any kind of attention or thought. All they want is this plain cookie cutter 3-4 minute crap that is constantly being shoved down our throats. I hate my generation, sometimes I think I was born 15 years too late. Most of the people in my generation spend their weekends in dance clubs, whereas I would rather spend that time at a good old fashioned hard rock concert.

My implication was that I hope there's more to it than just Schon constantly wailing away. (He's great & my fave, but it gets old.) If the bass & drums are showcased as unique instruments, and not just merely a punchy rhythm section; and if there's more piano, keys, & strings in it, and not just occasional filler, then it'll be Journey. If this album truly is all about the guitar, then it's the Neal Schon Band.

I am loving Chain of Love. This is the song I hear that vibe they were talking about early on in describing the music. Middle-Eastern, Hindu vibe. I can't remember how they described it. I'm probably not using the right descriptive terms. But you really hear it in Neal's guitar at times and you hear it in the way Arnel delivers certain lyrics vocally.

No, not true, lol. I don't think they make any sense the last 4-5 years in what "direction" they claim they want to take, since that seems to flip-flop, but that's fine. I'd love for this new album to be the hard rocker I keep hearing it will be, but I'm just not convinced of that yet. Hence why I'll wait for the album and see:)

I'm completely convinced that this will be a harder album than they've ever done. They've forgone the "catchy" choruses and replaced them with a more "in your face" style. Chain Of Love is an absolutely killer song and so is Resonate. I'm digging the out of the box choruses. Songs like Separate Ways, After The Fall, Never Walk Away, Who's Crying Now and a whole host of others, while great songs, had that predictable chorus. These songs, for better or worse, seem to be much more creative and are aimed at artistry, not air play. And I'm digging that. This is their first truly creative project post-Frontiers. All of the rest was aimed at pop, bordered on shit ... or was shit!

No way Jose. They are a great band. My favorite, all time. I am sure, after I get this CD, that I'll get into it. And I may have gotten more into it if I could have been there with all of you for the show. The Youtube clips sound good, the band sounds good and Arnel sounds great. Would loved to have been there to see it live.

You know, I'm totally NOT being a troll, those of you who have seen my other posts, I read, Investgate, ask alot of questions, I'm a "Long time" Journey fan, including some of the "Transitional" Journey. I'll admit not as hardcore as most of you, I really do like the band, the history, and the music.

Revelation for me was a sonic disappointment... completely.

I do have to say, now that we got a sneak preview... I'm kind of with Rick on this so far... these new tunes, their production Value, writing, the sounds, just aint growing on me.

Even through the transition years, and from the Beginning of the Cain era (So for arguments sake... the "Mainstay Of Journey", always had a Keyboard Piano or Synth Riff, WITH big background Vocals, and big Guitars.

Think of how heavy even Seperate Ways is - and it's still the Synth parts that help just as much as the guitar, make that tune heavy.

These tunes feel / Sound like they're "Built Differently"

I WANT this record to be amazing, hey I started a chat with the guy who helped Mix it... WAY cool - I'd love nothing more for it to be a great "Journey Experience"

But if these concert clips, are a sneak peek of how the record is going to sound, I'm not holding my breath.... sadly.

Resonate is a fantastic song!
The leadguitar intro of Neal is out of this world maybe his best ever?
I`m digging all new songs,had a little struggle with "Edge Of The moment" but when the rest of this album is as strong as these songs and when they are converted to a great audio quality where all nuances are audible this album is going to be a friggin MONSTER !
Kind of "Frontiers" on steriod !
