Favorite group you saw on tour with Journey??

I have to say Heart. Ann Wilson's vocals were spot on the night we saw her. Probably the best female vocals I have ever heard live.

We just got our Journey tix for the Darien show this year. Looking forward to seeing Foreigner again. Saw them with Def Leppard a few years back, Kelly Hansen really is a showman!

I have heard nothing but good things about Night Ranger. Night Ranger was my wife's first concert ever so she is stoked! And Blades co wrote Higher Place so he has to be rockin!

Night Ranger won't let you down unless they've lost a lot since I saw them 7 or 8 years ago. They just rip it loud, big guitar acrobatics, great harmonies, lots of stage presence. They're going to be a tough act for either Journey or Foreigner to follow. Their presence spurred my buying a good ticket for the Cleveland show in a big way. Don't think I would have paid as much if it were just Journey or even Journey and Foreigner.

Wow, can't really pick just one. Some of my favorites over the years have been: Night Ranger, Y&T, Gamma, Montrose, Frampton, Santana, Triumph, and Huey and the News.

In 2009 opening for Journey, Jack Blades talked more than Kevin Cronin, a big waste of time in a short 40-45 minute set. They did a Damn Yankees tune along with a long medley of cover tunes rather than any of a number of NR songs that shoud have been done instead, a big let down for me. I don't see great value in bringing them along on this tour.

Foreigner def stole the show the night we saw them from DL. Hansen was really good! His vocals and showmanship won us over!

I remember Cronin in 03 when Reo was with Journey...He did talk a lot thats for sure! Yikes!

I agree. He talked way too much, and one story was long and became painful. I just wanted him to get back to the music. The guitars were great, especially one song that I can't remember the name. But on many songs Jack's vocals were not in the forefront at all, kind of buried in the music when I saw them.

I pick Heart.

Peter Frampton was the biggest surprise (in a good way).

Probably Styx in '03. They stole the Main Event Tour. Terrific energy touring with a a terrific new album. All downhill since then for them.

probably Heart for me. Ann Wilson was in great voice that night--much stronger than any of their recent live dvds, which really surprised me, and the rest of the band was really on fire that night.

btw....did anyone here see Color when they opened a few shows circa 2003/2004? Got absolutely no support whatsoever from the record label, but the the cd was actually pretty good. Would have been an interesting match to see them if they could pull off the songs live.

I saw Night Ranger at the fair two years ago. Did not see them with Journey, but that would be one of my favorites. Is Jack Blades shorter than Neal?

My top favorite would be Heart with Journey. Saw them together with Cheap Trick in 2008.

I think Neal is taller...then again I believe Jack was wearing the Chuck Taylors....this was in little Pikeville, KY, I bet they got off the bus and said where the fuck are we...in the hills between eastern KY and southwest VA...a lot less of a metropolis than we have here in East TN...
I saw Cheap Trick/Journey in Nashville in 08, Heart opted to headline a club (Wildhorse I think) in Nashville instead.

Cuts like a knife. Awesome opening act. Sat up in the nose-bleed section in old reunion arena for 1st show.
2nd night had a single ticket 2nd row center stage. Bryan Adams and Steve Perry at their finest.

Man those were some good times. Wish I was 17 again!

When did Glass Tiger tour with Journey? I saw Glass Tiger open for Styx at the Queen Victoria Park New Years bash in Niagara Falls. They were mediocre, but not vomit worthy.

Tough, but I think Heart blew me away. Foreigner, Frampton, and Cheap Trick were great, too, but Ann's vocals were mind-blowing. As to Bryan Adams, I lost all respect for him, when he took his shirt off during the show in NJ (I think Brendan Byrne Arena at the time). It was a great concert until that point....

If you don't count the Journey family tree bands like Bad English, The Storm, etc, then Foreigner are my third favorite band.
And I saw them with Journey the last time that they toured together.
So, Foreigner is my answer.

Night Ranger are my fourth favorite band. So this is going to be a great tour for me!

I bought the second highest priced ticket. It's the last time that I'll pay that much for one ticket. After all of the bullshit charges that are tacked on, the ticket cost me $117. I remember having great seats for concerts back in the 80's and 90's for 15 to 20 dollars.
