I've watched all the seasons...and I gotta say that the best talent to come out of that show was Carrie Underwood. But she got better since the show. Yeah i am sure here is the hanky panky going on as you say.But it is the young girls voteing for the guys.Crazy that it is.I hope that James does not win let someone else.Adam is doing great without winning. :D

Blech (not a fan - although I do agree she's much better since the show). I don't think she would have had near the success she has had is she wasn't in the country genre.

I was disgusted seeing Pia getting kicked off. James is such a damn Lambert wannabe that it's pathetic. All he does is find an excuse in EVERY song to do his high pitch (nerve grating) screech. He sounds TERRIBLE, yet the judges tell him he's the best thing since sliced bread after each performance. This show needs Simon so bad. :? If they don't get a serious judge next season, I'm done watching this garbage. There country guy blows, fat albert blows, mexicano blows. Only the upright bass player, Pia, and the other 2 remaining females are decent in my opinion. Sorry, but I can't remember their names.

I also don't like that this show has become more about the damn producers coaching the singers, more than about the singers. Who gives a damn who Jimmy is, or any of the others? He's an asshole. Just show the damn talent of the show! :?

Listen to this and tell me you don't think it's ridiculous, and utter shit...

And this is what he's trying to imitate (which sounds just as ridiculous to me). I don't get it. Just because you CAN hit high notes, doesn't mean they sound good or are necessary for every song. I hate this crap!

Well sure - if either one of them sang entire songs sounding like the clips you chose to post, of course it would be ridiculous. But they don't. And in James' case, I'm pretty sure the producers of Idol encourage that kind of thing for the 'wow' factor in the auditions - too bad, because it sours people on some of the really good talent (judges seem to like it though :? ) I don't quite get the 'James is trying to imitate Adam' thing that so many people say - I don't see that. To each his own - I like both of them. I think James is going to have some success and Adam already has - good for them for doing something to make that happen. Whether it's lasting success or not - I don't think any new artist these days is going to be a household name 20 or 30 years from now.

Exactly! It seems anything and everything that is considered to be a marketable product has a very short shelf life with those promoting those things fully expecting "it" to be obsolete, replaced, etc. shortly after it hits the market. These promoters know that in order to score big on these products, they need to get in quick, grab the attention of everyone they can, ride the wave of success for the short time it shines but at the same time always ready with the next thing that will take "its" place.

The word disposable used to be used symbolically, as a metaphor to describe the short life span of a product that is replaced or becomes obsolete shortly after its release. Unfortunately, it has become the exact definition of these things.

My wife and I were cleaning out the store room attached to our garage this morning and one of the boxes had a bunch of things my daughter felt had run their course (a lot of it was Christmas presents from this past Year). She wasn't necessarily throwing the stuff out per se, more she had become bored with them. This is the same stuff she was all giddy and excited about the day she unwrapped them a little over 3 months ago! And it's the same way with today's musical acts ( I had to think about how I wanted to word that since using the word 'musician' would have been inappropriate) A large percentage of the music listened to collectively by the members of this board is 15, 20, 25 years old and older. The music my kids listen to today is considered "so old" a month after it comes out. I'll bet the farm there won't be an 'classic rap' station or a 'hip-hop oldies' station on your radio dial ever in the future.

Yeah... what a loss, Pia don't deserve going home early. If the reason she was vote off is because the people "trusts" she's safe, that's embarrassingly ridiculous! Poor Pia then.

Actually there are people from the show helping Interscope to get her in the studio and a single released to radio before the show finishes this season.
