Kinda like "Revelation."
The new Lep song is ok. Not sure why we are comparing it to new Journey tho.
While "City of Hope" doesn't do very much for me, "Human Feel" is a cool track and pure Schon.

I'm pretty much with you on all points here. Human Feel really clicked for me when I listened to it on my iPod at the gym a few days ago. Before that, it wasn't doing much. But, now I think it's a pretty cool song.

Chain Of Love and the much talked about Tantra are the two I can't wait to hear on the album. Arnel's acoustic song, too.

I like it on first listen so far. Saw the track listing for the live album, glad they put Animal on there, great song, and great live too, one of my favs.

Saw Slang being mentioned in here, great album, was a grower for me, but love it.

Why haven't you listened to any of the Journey tunes?
Long story short ...when I hear

Moist? I'm not even going there!

A few listens in today, and not really impressed.

I bet if Nancy Wilson sung this you would be dripping moist!

Love it, it sounds like Leppard should. I like it a lot, even if JE has lost the majority of his range. It sounds MUCH better than the Journey clips I've heard. I'm hoping the full Journey record changes my mind when it's available.

Hmmm...I like it, but I don't love it. For SOME reason I get this "country music" feel from it. And once I felt that, it's hard to love it. Why do I hear country though?? Is it my ears??

It's because modern country borrows so much from 80s rock...

Are you SURE it's not the other way around...and Bon jovi, Def Lep...and other 80's bands I've seen on the country music channel, aren't boworring from modern country? Because there is a bigger market??

I immediately thought about artists like Patsy Cline, Elvis Presley etc...
who's country roots crossed over into rock/pop! It goes way back ...

No, I know that! And it's not before your time when your dad filtered 50's and 60's music into your brain your whole youth!! Much like i do to my kids with 80's music now!!  But I don't remember getting a "country feel" from Def Lep before, since that song they did with Tim McGraw last album!! So I immediately felt they are taking that turn.. the easy way to sell records maybe?? I don't know!

Has anyone ever seen this? I laughed the first time I saw JOE singing THIS WITH TAYLOR SWIFT!!  It just seems weird to me! I am a HUGE Def Lep fan... but I just don't know about this!!!

I'd like to add.... if DL had it's roots in Tennessee or Alabama or someplace south... I could get it more I guess. Being a British band, I don't know. I'm just not used to it I guess. Bon Jovi dipped into that a little too. And if I like the song, I don't mind at all! But I'm just not loving this one as much as I want to! I liked the one with Tim McGraw much better, if they are going to those kinds of roots!!

It's a bigger market now. But look at the roots of where modern country came from...Shania Twain, Garth Brooks, Keith Urban, Rascal Flatts, Big & Rich...all pull from that 80s arena rock sound and twang it up to make it more in line with country...been happening for years...so in turn, the 80s rock artists tweak their production to those new standards...

Well it makes sense for country artists to do this... so it can appeal to country music haters like ME! They sell more records, make more money, etc. I like plenty of "cross-over" country, but just can't do real, raw country. Never could. Even some of the modern stuff, I just can't like it. I try, but I just get SO bored by that twangy guitar!! I just don't like seeing the rock artists crossing over to their side!

Thats all Jon Bon Jovi's voice is fit for now that he's got that nasally thing going on all the time. Bad enough for BJ to dabble with county but for Def Lep to record with McGraw is beyond ridiculous...both have sold out imo.

What about the youtube I put of Joe singing with Taylor Swift? I'd much rather hear him with Tim McGraw! Tim McGraw, from what I hear, is a huge fan and attends Def Lep concerts. So it was one of those deals, where when they met back stage after a concert, they told Tim they'd like to record with him, and he agreed and it happened. Who know!

I really don't think Joe's voice is worth a whole lot these days either, so that could be the SAME reason for the changes in sound also.

Yeah, but at least the one with Taylor wasn't recorded for a cd.

Maybe Journey will turn up on a Cross Roads now that Cain is making more Nashville connections....but who could they appear with that would actually work well? ....Not that I ever want to hear them throw in a fiddle and banjo on a Journey recording...lol.

Journey w/ Rascal Flatts would work

I saw Rascal Flatts do a SPOT ON cover of "Long Time" by Boston once on CMT...they nailed it!

I'm surprised that none of Cain's ballads (especially from the Arrival era on) have been recorded or re-recorded by country artists like RF.
