Working isn't something one has to do out of necessity. It's as much about personal fulfillment and reaching whatever goals one have, as well as contributing to society.
And when you are able to choose what you do, it works out better. An unemployed CEO that must take a job as a janitor? He is doing what he HAS to, not what he WANTS to....that's my point.
