Apparently they did in 2008, playing at least in Sweden and at Rocklohoma. Not sure it will happen again, though. Sounds like Rik would be open to it, but whether Gil actually wants to tour. That info came from a fan at the show btw, not from Rik.
Rik and the guys are open to it and yes, Gil remains very busy with Metalworks Studios. A couple of items, Triumph wants to be a headliner on any multi-band tour and they want to do the full stage show with lasers and pyro. This leads to a somewhat expensive production that today's economy would have difficulty supporting. Would Triumph open for Van Halen? Would Van Halen allow Triumph to open for them? Would this show be too expensive for any promoter or live events/entertainment company? We'll just have to wait and see. Personally, it would be killer to see a Triumph/Van Halen tour...but unless conditions change for the better, I do not see it happening in the near future.
Until then, enjoy all of the Rik Emmett shows that come to a city near you...or at least a city in which you can somewhat easily afford to travel. You will not be disappointed.
