Hurricane Preparedness. How to Stay Online During Category 3

Seriously. I live on teh coast of NC. They are talking like it might hit here or SC. Eitherway we are going to get it. Is there like a battery pack I can buy to plug in my laptop to in case the power goes out? I know that my laptop has a battery, but a pack to keep my battery juiced...

They have Uninterpretable Power Supplies for desktop computers, so if the power fails the computer will run long enough for you to save your work and shut it down. But those won't power anything for very long. The only alternative that I know of is like a portable home generator that runs on gas or diesel. But those are pretty darn expensive. This is the cheapest one I could find in a quick search, but you could probably find a better deal if you searched more thoroughly. http://www.cheap-generators.us/node-163 ... rator.html
I like to sit out on the front porch, where the birds can see me, eating a plate of scrambled eggs, just so they know what I'm capable of.

Just get a couple of knitting needles and some yarn. If your power goes out, you'll have time to knit yourself a few voodoo dolls, doily's, place mats and what have you.

You can't have it, we want it! I think it's only rained here twice this year. Our rivers have disappeared and wells are drying up. We need that hurricane, you can have the next one.
