I've kept the same contacts in for close to 5 months before....they were adhered to my eye. LOL. Now i don't do that...I may keep them in for 4 or 5 days...

 Me either ...I fell asleep in mine many times, in error,
and the next morning it felt like I was peeling off a layer

Jimbo ...can you see yet?!?

Some of my friends wear their contacts ALL the time. Blows my mind. I know a few of them have been told that they need to stop for a while because they are tearing their corneas up... and we are talking about 25-30-year-olds here, not old men. Yet another reason (other than discomfort after a long day) that I don't wear mine more than necessary.

I'm pretty sure that is why I suffer w/photophobia now ...and it started in my 30's. Tell them
to be careful!!

That's still horrible for your eyes! My sister-in-law used to do that too until finally her eyes basically started rejecting her contacts when she tried to get them back in and she had to give her eyes a break for almost a month with glasses only until she could stand wearing contacts again. That's why I take mine out every night, I'm blind enough without causing MORE damage, lol.

I've tried contacts three or four times now. For some reason, they worked fine for normal use but my vision would be blurry for looking at my computer screen. Since my job is doing tech support/IT for my company, I just couldn't do it. I'm so used to wearing glasses now that it doesn't really bother me anymore. The only real hassle is when I'm sweating and it's running down my lenses.

Yeah it's definitely an individual thing. My eye doc has tried to get me in different contacts too from the kind I've been wearing for years, and there's always too much of a difference for me to change, whether it's comfort, or not seeing as clearly, etc. So I stick with my old kind. If they stop making those then I'll have no choice, lol, but so far so good still.

Yeah, that's what happened to me. After years of wearing contacts. My eyelids developed a reaction to the protein buildup on the contacts. I'd was them and 2 seconds after putting them in, I'd blink them out. The insides of my eyelids would get tiny bumps on them in reaction to the protein on the contacts.

That's what made me decide on LASIK, glasses were no longer acceptable.

Yeah if I started having problems like that I'd definitely consider the surgery too.

I think I made a huge freaking mistake with this surgery. I can't see anything right now, and am only able to type is on my IPad with the letters blown up huge! This shit sucks. I could see better for the first two days, then it started going downhill from there. Out of the 10 people that had the surgery that day, I'm the only one with complications. They gave me an eye exam, and the doctor just looked at the chart for a minute. She says well, you aren't healing as well as we thought you would by this point. She said I still have abbrasions on my eyes, and that they'll just take a while to heal. They only gave me today off, and I'm supposed to go back to work on Monday. I can't see SHIT and everything I do is on the computer. I wish I could undo it, because I definitely would have opted for LASIK. DAMMIT!!! Anyways, I probably won't be on here for a while, so you can be stress free Andrew. Hopefully I can see next week. Ttyl.

That's what I told him on page 1  - I had to take 3 weeks off because I couldn't see well enough to drive, let alone see my computer screen or keyboard to do my normal work. It got better - slowly - but it did and I'm close to 20/20 now. Be patient and I hope it works out for you Jim!

It is a little better Rick. Thanks for asking! The improvement seems very slow, and there are days that it seems to be worse than better. I'm having to squint like CRAZY to see this screen, and I know it's not good for me, so I'm limiting my time on here. If I had a time machine, I would definitely go back and opt for Lasik. Of course, if I had a time machine I could just go back and limit my "happy alone time" and I wouldn't have even NEEDED glasses. Nah... I think I'd just get the Lasik. :D
