So Long Yankees!

It never gets old watching a New York team lose. Almost as good as watching a Boston team win

It IS great watching the Yankees lose at any time. Honestly, however, at least they can say they lived up to SOME expectations and made it to the playoffs.

But is funny indeed.

My sentiments exactly. However, last night's game did have its enjoyable and tense moments like when they left the bases loaded in the 5th. But yeah, love to watch the Spankee's lose! D-backs today at Milwaukee at 2:00 MST. C'mon Snakes!!!!!!

So it's the Rangers and Tigers. It's always fun when the evil empire loses, but frankly, the Tigers scare me more than the Yankees.
I like to sit out on the front porch, where the birds can see me, eating a plate of scrambled eggs, just so they know what I'm capable of.

Who gives a fuck if "we" made the playoffs. The Yankees went out in the first round, so they didn't really accomplish any more than the Dead Sox did!

As much as I hate the Yankees, yes, they did accomplish more than the Sox. Not by much but still. They at least lived up to what they were supposed to do where the Sox just completely fell apart. Highest payroll in baseball? Sure but practically everyone was predicting the Sox and the Phillies in the WS.

It means absolutely NOTHING. The Patriots went 14-2 last season and ducked out in the first round of the playoffs. I promise you that nobody in Boston felt like the Patriots accomplished a damn thing just because they made the playoffs. Honestly, I'd rather see a team miss it completely and shake things up than fool themselves into thinking that they're something that they're not.

Well, we'll have to agree to disagree. Anyway, no one has to worry about anyone thinking the Sox fooled themselves into thinking they're something they're not.

I agree. It's Super Bowl or bust. Nothing else matters. But at the same time, qualifying for the playoffs gives your team a shot and hope, as well as excitement and buzz. Some fans don't get to see playoff runs OR winning records to hope for a victory in the post-season. Atleast qualifying gives the thrill of hope. Losing always sucks, especially one and done but ask Lions or Browns fans about playoff ball. I'm sure they'd atleast crave to see their team in the tournament.

John,
My original post was meant as a good natured jab at you and wasn't meant to imply that myself or anyone else in the Yankees Universe is satisfied with this season- I don't think anyone feels that way. BTW- I have the upmost respect for the Red Sox and their ownership and just like the Yankees, the Sox will reload and tee it back up in February.
