A family friend of mine runs a plastics business - one of their biggest areas is making plastic casings for anything from printers to remote controls to videogame controllers. Anyway, one of their customers is this "Broadened Horizons" company. They've developed technology that allows disabled people to play videogames using anything from their mouths to hands to voices to anything else depending on their handicap. They use my family friend's company's casings, so that's how I came to know about them.
I'm normally an insensitive asshole, but this video/concept really touched me. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5mhYjDSj ... r_embedded
I'm pretty sensitive about disabled kids to begin with. No real reason - fortunately, my entire family has been lucky in that department.
Tack that on to how much joy you can see this little guy gets from just playing a videogame, something I've done and taken completely for granted since I was about 3 years old, and you have something really moving in my eyes.
Cool company. Hopefully something to make you feel good and remember how lucky most of us are.
