Behind the scenes.....making of an album.

I've always found this behind the scenes colaboration stuff fascinating, what guitar/bass chords go where, moving lyrics around, decisions made, etc....... Find it interesting to see the band members interact with Kevin Shirley, i.e., Kevin working with Billy (around the 5 min. mark in Part 2) to play something a little differently to go with Paul's chords and how that all comes about. Creativity in action......

Part 2 ~ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oA0Ye3i03FQ

And thanks to Paul for explaining/demonstrating guitar face. Always wondered why Neal, etc. make those extorted faces..............it makes it sound better.

Back when I was a teen I worked at a fast food restaurant. I was taking guitar lessons at the time. One time, a kid I worked with asked what types of things I learned in guitar lessons, and I told him that I mainly just practiced making "guitar faces." I was of course joking. But he thought I was serious. So I started demonstrating emotional guitar faces, and told him that my guitar teacher instructed me on what faces to make while I played guitar.

It's always important, when playing guitar, to look/act as cool/stupid as possible.

 Couldn't help but chuckle watching Gilbert demonstrate throwing a head and shoulder roll in there too, helps it sound better when bending a chord.
