As for the Chris Paul for Rondo deal, I don't agree with your assessment that it would be a horrible deal. Paul is clearly the better player between those two guys. I like Rondo and like him a lot. In fact, he is one of the only players who I have ever seen completely dominate games without being able to score. The guy is a HORRIBLE shooter. If he could actually shoot, he would be a top three player in the entire league.
The Celtics run is over, with Garnett, Allen, and Pierce. That said, there is zero doubt in my mind that they are up to something. I was absolutely STUNNED when Doc Rivers signed a 5 year contract to keep coaching this team. I was certain that he was not coming back. He knows how old his core group is. He also knows that Garnett and Allen come off the books next season. The Celtics will have more money than any team in the NBA to spend next year on Free Agents. Rivers is a very well respected coach by top players around the league. Because of that, I believe the Celtics will have a great shot of signing some serious Free Agents next season.

I don't think they necessarily need to shorten the season. They need to reduce the playoff teams. Having .500 or sub-.500 teams make it in year after year from the East is embarrassing.
They also need to go back to best of five in the first round. Gets it done quicker AND maximizes upset potential.

I hate the NBA. I have to accept it. the bad side of our great experiment to the nth degree. Fuck, I hate the NBA. It's like supporting teacher's unions. A necessary evil, but the alternative is actually being on the side of evil. You know, fuckface cocksucker bloodless douchebags who cannot even defend themselves in a pee on your leg dispute at the stadium urinal, but are always shocked when their wife is caught sucking the tattooed landscaper's rod. I hate the NBA. It is living proof that we all go down the same toilet. We just start at different places. The NBA is proof that human beings suck.

I was VERY happy when LaQueen James got waxed in the finals last year.

Most, if not all people who think the NBA is "boring" have no clue about how great these athletes are. I think what they are seeing on TV and what not makes them believe that anyone can do this. These players are so fucking great, they make it LOOK real easy, but it's not. And RedPa, yes, most are black, but what sport isn't? Hockey? No doubt it is, but unless you live in Canada or up north, no one give's a shit about hockey. Hell, I live in Florida and have never even been to a Lightning or Panthers game and never will. I just can't get into it. I've tried watching it and I just don't get it. Players getting called for offsides. How? Why? Something about the blue line they can't cross unless another player or 3 more are right there with him, why? Seems like to me they got rid of the blue line and offsides call it would open things up more. The biggest hurdle for me trying to watch hockey is that I can't identify with the players. With most players being from other countries it's all fucked up.

The puck must cross the offensive blue line before you do....just like soccer. Good rule, that they fuck up all the time. Not unlike in the NBA, where if you are the face of the leaguw(Lebrick) you get the foul if someone even mentions your name...yeah, that's a much better sport...![]()

The fact is Lebron is above & beyond everyone else. A freak of nature. No one can guard him. Your only hope is he's shooting 20 footers every time & he's off on half of them. When he wants to take you in the first three quarters of regular season games, he will.
