So tired of seeing teams chuck it 50 yards downfield when they need 4 yards....then have to punt. NE was so predictable today. Every time they no-huddled, it was a run play. Also, Welker needs to quit whining after every play. Yes, he was getting raped - but the refs weren't going to call shit today - and that was evident from jump street.

I see some tackling drills for the NE defense later this week....and the ONLY person I'm scared of on NY is Cruz. Cruz on turf is going to be hell.

NE - 31
NY - 17

What happened to your blowout? You were very wrong.

I'm sure it was due to a series of bad calls by the officials.....

Or Brady's bad timing interceptions. Baffles me that he only lost to Baltimore one time with the numbers he puts up against them. Just goes to show how BAD Baltimore needs offense within their team. That offense holds them back time and time again. Before Balty fans ball-wash Flacco for his performance (perfect ball to Lee Evans, better play by the Pats rookie) he DID throw that TERRIBLE INT right to Mayo before Brady uncharacteristically threw the jugular pick.

45 points right? Your sports calls are so wrong.

Huh? I had Baltimore scoring 20, which was correct. I said earlier that no way the Pats would score 40, no how. I had them 34-20.

And unless you KNEW that Balty was going to force 3 turnovers - there was NO WAY you knew NE wasn't going to score 40+ points....if not for those TOs - it would have been 50 points.

But the TO's happened. It's part of football. Baltimore forced them and made some NICE INT's. That tipped ball to Jimmy Smith was pretty and that other INT (can't remember if it was Webb) was nice covering Eldelman. Baltimore has a tough D, now the Pats understand how tough the AFC North is, going up against the top 2 defense's TWICE a year. New England wasn't outstanding, but it was enough to win in personal chokes from Baltimore (Cundiff, Evans.)

No douche. You are such a homer it is disgusting.

I called the game and you are still saying it should have been a blowout.

You should almost be banned from talking football here because you know ZERO.

Your logic is flawed, Ed...so let me ask you THIS tough question....If I told you NE was going to score 45 points against Denver, and Brady goes down on the 2nd play from scrimmage - Hoyer comes in and only manages 17 points....was I really wrong, or was my prognostication based entirely on Brady being the QB? Fact is, if O'Brien calls a decent game, that 40 is reached easily.

And you're right, NOBODY knows the game like you.....I apologize.

Didn't you say the Pats were going to accept the coin toss when they HISTORICALLY defer on top of them scoring 41+ points? You aren't here all week, are you?

Absolutely. The Patriots force you into playing near FLAWLESS ball. Before you know it, one 3 and out will kill you against Brady. Bellichick and Brady look at the 2nd half kick-off as a time to bury. I was shocked though with 55 seconds with 2 timeouts left, that Brady kneeled before halftime. Just goes to show how much respect they have for Balty's D.

Where I felt my team got beat was the first 3 and outs. Really hated the call taking back the first potential INT too, but what can you do? Got to beat the team the NFL wants to win over the head in their house and not let it be close.

New York vs. Boston is what the networks want. Personally it makes me want to puke and I will not be watching.

On another note: Did ANYBODY see the T.V slow-mo of Giants punter/holder Weatherspoon taking his helmet off after they made the game winning kick? "We're going to the mother fucking Super Bowl!" I laughed my ass off.

And seriously, I don't know how anybody can claim NE was afraid of Balty's *D*...they sacked Brady ONCE, and Belichick wasn't afraid to go for the jugular on 4th and 1 from the 1.

The only players I respect on that team are Reed, and Sizzle...

Me and John haven't really smacked heads lately. We've been pretty consistent in thinking the same as far as how each game is going to turn out, especially in the playoffs.

You didn't tell me anything. The final score was pretty close to exactly what I predicted it would be. Not everyone predicts the Patriots are going to beat every team they play by 4 TD's! Some of us are a bit more realistic about things.

He sure did, and then deleted his post where he said that, but you can still see it in one of my posts a couple of pages back, where I quoted him that there was ZERO chance that the Patriots weren't deferring. And clearly, Jim Nantz said at the beginning of the game "The Patriots won the coin toss and have deferred"! Shocking that they would ever do that.

How can you not respect that defense? Didn't surprise me at all. Brady wasn't exactly playing great, and one mistake there could have ended the game. Belichick has more respect for the Raven's D than any other team in the NFL. He always has.

On another note, Brady has now played in the NFL for 10 seasons (I'm not counting the one season he missed) and has got to the Super Bowl half of the seasons he has played. That's an insane statistic. He better play 1000 times better if the Patriots have ANY chance of winning at all. The Giants have a much better offense than Baltimore has and will score some points. If Brady plays like he did against Baltimore, the Patriots will lose 45 to 17!

I neglected to mention that I am soooooo happy that it's the Giants the Patriots are facing in the Super Bowl, even though it's clearly a tougher opponent for them. This is the matchup I've been wishing for. Even if it doesn't turn out the Patriots way, nothing would be sweeter than avenging the last Super Bowl loss. Not to mention, had the Niners won, almost nobody would have predicted the Niners could beat the Patriots, which is always a very dangerous thing. Given that the Giants have already beat the Patriots this season, most people know better than to say the Giants have no chance.

No matter what happens, this is a "legacy" game. If Brady and Belchick win, Patriots haters are going to fucking HATE life, because there won't be much of an argument to be made against Brady being the greatest QB in the history of the NFL (and he's in the conversation already, regardless of what happens in two weeks). Also, if Coughlin and Eli win, they enter select company of guys who have won more than one Super Bowl. Not to mention, I think it pushes Eli up to that elite status. If he wins this one, I'd rank him ahead of his own brother, because his brother has choked away FAR too many huge games over the course of his career. I'd probably push Eli ahead of Roethlisberger with another Super Bowl win, simply because his numbers are better and he is a smarter player than Ben.
