I'd text you a pic of this paradise full of cool people and open bar, but dont wanna piss God off , cause he has a huge ass "NO TEXTING PICS OF THIS PLACE"-sign hangin behind the bartender who happens to be Patrick Swayze. I also ran into Whitney Houston , she was actually celebrating her 3 weeks of being drug-free   !
I will be waiting for all of you fuckers to show up sooner or later.

So long....

46.
So young.

I'm stuck over in the UK - those of you who are close to Lula, please give her a hug.

She is a strong lady but even strong ladies need hugs sometime.

I'm still blown away by this a week later. I can't believe that Dean is no longer with us. I was just going through some old emails from him and feel horribly that I wasn't able to help the guy. This is a void that will simply never be filled. I feel awful for Lula, Wyatt, and Dean's grown children. What an impossible thing to have to deal with. I truly hope they all know what a good soul most of us viewed Dean as. The only positive thing that I've been able to take from this are the endless stories from members on this site conveying how kind Dean was to them when he reached out (and beyond his persona here) to them on a private level. I never got those who had venom toward the guy, but am thankful that even his detractors were able to read what most of us have always known...Dean was simply a really good guy. It breaks my heart, beyond words, that Wyatt has to grow up without his Daddy :(

That's the part that breaks my heart the most :(. Seeing him with Wyatt as a baby 4 years ago, could see so much love in his eyes for that sweet boy and Lula.

I agree wholeheartedly. Wouldn't it be great if it didn't take a death for people to show such respect to each other? Just a thought.....and I know I'm one of the worst offenders when it comes to "spewing venom" from time to time.

I hear ya, first his twin brother and now his daddy. :( I have a miniature Vancouver goalie helmet McD's collectable that Dean had me pick up for Wyatt still sitting on the back of my kitchen counter. Breaks my heart every time I see it, gonna mail it to little Wy-man.

I don't think Dean would want us to have a perpetual love-fest on the forums and especially on his board.

If we don't start mixing it up soon, we'll dishonor his memory.

And John, you're right...a void that will never be filled. Still can't believe it's true.

There were a couple of times when I was down and out. Dean offered to fly all the way across the country, or to have me go out and spend some time with him. A spectacular guy.

I wasn't able to get to the memorial today, but did manage to hook up with Stu and crew around midnight for a few hours. Was very sorry I didn't get to see Lula too, but she was home with Wyatt. We definitely got choked up remembering Dean, but you're right... sometimes we need to honor our friends by carrying on as if they were still with us. Stu was having a tough time, and luckily a little alcohol seemed to take the edge off for a bit. Personally, I think this is what Deano would want to see...

Image

... minus Dokken of course, but still... his spirit was definitely with us. :)

Stu, my brother... amazing that we've both managed to wind up in the same city two different weekends in a row, and it was just an honor... so sorry I couldn't make it to the memorial today. Much love to Lula and Wy... Save travels.

Hey everyone...I got the video of the service...not full HD like I wanted...and the sound can be quiet.in spots...I will get it all up once I am home. Lula and Dean's family were very touched by the outpouring of love and friendship from everyone. They asked me to express their sincere thanks to you all. You very much helped them get through a very rough time.

Dean had someone (can't remember who...sorry) take a picture of him and me at the LV Planet Hollywood AP premiere. I was a late arrival and early departer, thus missing out on much of the fun, but did have the chance to meet a few of you and to buy Dean a beer prior to the show. That was a special night and now looking back, wish I'd have spent more time with everyone.

I'd love to be able to track down the photo if possible. Since most of you guys likely have no clue as to what I look like (lucky for me  ), it may be difficult, but if there is a place all the gathering pics are posted, I'd love to see the ones from this show. I think Rick and Rip or even Maui Tom may have been in it or near by as well. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Lynn sent me some pictures of the event, but I don't see you in any of them. I had some pictures, but they are on a dead hard drive. One of these days I'm going to get brave enough to crack that drive open and see if I can get it spinning.
