I quite liked this, just a very genuine guy. With the huge success (for him) that he's had, I'm amazed at how humble he still is.

I think he still gets a bit nervous at times, but he really is genuine. This is probably the best interview I've seen him do in English. It's a pretty big step for him and without his band mates stepping in, as usual. Normally Cain or Neal will immediately interject something when they are there, almost like to not let AP steal any of the spot light from them.

I hit him really hard when they picked him and I don't back off on that in the least and own it. Reason #1 because I know 2 of the previous successors to Steve A. who got fucked over and #2, it was an odd choice, didn't have the look and there WAS a very noticable accent.

However A.P. didn't make me not like Journey anymore. It was Schon.

Arnel has made strides in the times I have listened over the years he has been there and I hear little or no accent on recent clips. Although I don't go to see Journey anymore, I am very happy for Arnel and think he is doing a better job from the footage I see than anyone could in the year 2012.

The world needed to see this man sing and I'm glad he caught the break of a lifetime, as it couldn't have happened to a better man that symbolizes the meaning of deserving. Even though I hopped onboard in the Augeri-era and was eager to continue the Journey with Augeri, Arnel quickly won me over and I for one am proud to be a Journey fan because of him, regardless of the black eye the other members may have in this community. I simply love the music, past & present while I enjoy, admire and appreciate the bands efforts in moving forward (Revelation, Eclipse.) I never got caught up with emotion with the business side of things, even though sometimes it could make you think twice about well- being, but Arnel truly is an inspiration and I couldn't be happier that a story like this happened to my favorite all-time rock band with such a wonderful frontman that was in dire need of a break. Gotta love that. Plus, Arnel's the real deal, all around. He may be small in stature, but his voice match's his heart: HUGE.

Well said. I love him. He's much more than what he does for a living.

In that interview clip, I can sort of empathize with Arnel's demeanor, with the feeling and words he was trying to convey. Obviously, he possesses a gift to be able to sing so well unique to only few...but the humbleness and mannerism are characteristic of those of Asian heritage...and you can sense he was very nervous in his speaking delivery.

Arnel is one class act... no doubt..

I was in New Jersey a few years ago for my day gig,and I was staying at the Hilton Hotel. I went downstairs to the kiosk in the lobby, to get a bottle of water and noticed a bunch of asian people in the lobby. I saw this guy that I SWORE looked like Arnel. No sooner did I think that, a girl turned around with an Arnel Pineda Fan Club T-shirt on, and sure enough it was Arnel. I got my bottle of water and kind of walked past him and said, "I don't mean to bother you, but you're doing a great job". Arnel IMMEDIATELY turned around and said "Hey, thank you man, what's your name?", and stuck his hand out to shake mine. I told him my name and I asked him what he was doing in NJ, and if he had family there. He told me he was in town to do a benefit concert for his foundation, and had just finished a concert.
Arnel, myself, and his manager, walked to the elevator, chatting about the record he was recording (Eclipse)with Journey, and couldn't he have been nicer. What a TRULY humble and class guy.

I knew Arnel before they chose him as a singer cause he was doing covers of Survivor and journey songs on youtube (as you all know) so i had some of his youtube links in my favorites and although i was extremely surprised when they picked him i knew he was the right guy for the job on a vocal standpoint............he is an amazing singer......only problem is he's in JOURNEY and STEVE PERRY'S shadow will always be following him.
