I actually think their harmonies are the real deal, or at least they were as of a few years ago. Check out the XM Sessions DVD they included with the Find Your Own Way Home CD. You can hear them practice the Roll With The Changes harmony before they start and make some adjustments. Pretty impressive. See here:

Yup, that's the real deal for sure as is their Sound Stage performance(s). The only reason I even mentioned the possibility of them using additional backing vox is due to the fact that it is almost surreal how "full" Amato and Hall's vocals are it just seems like there has to be more coming from somewhere.
