I highly recommend buying the Pyromania Deluxe Edition. The live CD included with it is some of the best Def Leppard you'll ever hear, it was recorded at the LA Forum in 1983.

From an angineering standpoint.. Hysteria is a pretty revered album amongst audio engineers. The skill it took to engineer those sounds 25 years ago was pretty phenomenal. I was at audio school we were floored when we heard it, we knew it was a game changer for the recording community.
It only took a couple years and we started hearing super-stacked vocals, mulit-layered drums, synth bass under real bass, vox EQ at the syllabic level (Mutt was the 1st engineer to use the SSL with EQ automation)... all of which is pretty standard fare now, across multiple genres in the recording industry.

Hysteria is all engineered. And it just doesn't ROCK. First step into Leppard's black hole.

All music is engineered... Hysteria's engineering was intentional and an outgrowth of the engineering on Pyromania (which also had all its drums replaced with samples)
Saying it doesn't "rock" is your personal opinion.. your entitled to it.. but 20 Million sold would say otherwise..

Thanks for posting. "Hysteria", one of the few albums in history you can listen to from beginning to end and not skip a song. A fucking masterpiece of perfection!
