I don't think any of these artist did The Carpenters any justice by covering their tunes. Sonic youth sounded like they were whispering with a lot of reverb thru

the amps. And the Japanese artist covering them, that was a travesty and they should never attempt that again. It's great to hear artist covering such a great

songwriting team such as The Carpenters, but for God's sake, do them better r not at all. I wanna say this though fresh fish eater, thanks for turning me on to

Leona Lewis, WOW! What a powerful voice and very catchy tune. I'm getting that cd asap.

LOL. Those three tunes were from an album called "If I Were A Carpenter" that had been released in the early part of the 90's. Yeah, Sonic Youth did sound like they were on doggy downers on that song, but I still thought it was interesting how they did it. Shonen Knife was funny to listen to doing “On the top of the world”. We always got a good laugh out of it. And the last one by Bettie Serveert is pretty cool I think. I love the rock sound that they put on that song with the guitar and drums.

Leona Lewis is one of the best recent singers I think. Glad you like it. She has a few really great tunes out there if that’s the type of music you like to listen to. I also like the Keri Hilson’s song. Pumped Up Kicks by Foster The People is a fun song to listen to I think. It has a catchy sound to it I think.

Does anyone have kids who liked to watch the Powerpuff Girls? This same Japanese girl band that did this Carpenter's song is the one that does the theme song to the Powerpuff Girls, if you didn't know it before.
