Don't dig him too much, but I give him props for carving out his career here the way he did by becoming a regional tour de force. I'm guessing a lot of people here have never even heard of him.

I almost typed something like "Not counting Ehwmatt, are there any Michael Stanley fans on here?"  I thought that it might be possible that you and I might be the only two on here that know who he is?

I'm not a huge fan of his, but I do like a few of his songs.

I have an issue of Kerrang Magazine which is a European Hard Rock/Heavy Metal magazine that had an article about the Michael Stanley Band, and how underrated they view MSB to be.

A few favorites from way back when. Never really heard much else from him after that. Have a friend who orginally is from the Cleveland area who told me they were absolutely huge there.

Yes, MSB were, and still are, huge in Cleveland.

A couple of others.

The first link is for the MSB song "Lover," and the second is for the MSB song "Rosewood Bitters" which was later remade by Joe Walsh.

Saw MSB open for Foreigner on the Foreigner 4 tour in St. Louis.

They are popular with K-SHE 95 listeners.

That was probably a great show? Foreigner are my third favorite band. and while I'm not a huge MSB fan, they do a have a few really good songs, and they'd be a good choice as Foreigner's opening band.

Same here- great show and my first concert, so MSB first ever arena band I've seen. Junior Walker came out and did his sax parts on Urgent. LA Forum Feb 1982.
