Why's Jamo back in Survivor?

Just re-read this interview with Jamo from 2007 when he left the band. Really illuminating!

As I said on the main noticeboard, this makes me think that the only reason he's back in the band is that he's financially or legally obligated to. Certainly doesn't seem like he wants to be there from the recent footage.

Why not even Japan tour dates? They always had cd reissues there, they should work that market like many many other bands

As you said in the other thread, I can't see Jamo staying with Survivor for much longer unless things take a sudden upswing. Seems like it's doing him more harm than good. At least he hasn't been prevented from recording Never Too Late (or was that recorded before his return to the band?)

On the other hand, this does bode well for the possibility of a sequel to Crossroads Moment, which I absolutely adore!

Are Jamo and Peterik still on good terms, Andrew?

Hi...lets be REAL....ok??? Survivor has sold 7 or 8 million albums....and Journey about 80 million plus.....

Survivor toured....as in REAL tours for a few years.....Journey for 30.....and Journey sold out 20 to 30,000 seat venues in the day...Survivor would CO headline small venues and then when they played on their own REALLY small venues.....

Hi...lets be REAL....ok??? Survivor has sold 7 or 8 million albums....and Journey about 80 million plus.....

Survivor toured....as in REAL tours for a few years.....Journey for 30.....and Journey sold out 20 to 30,000 seat venues in the day...Survivor would CO headline small venues and then when they played on their own REALLY small venues.....

Agreed on all counts JV. I will say this, Survivor was a victim of bad promotion. Some amazing songs. Underrated catalog. When I saw them live in the 80's the band was amazingly tight! While they were never the equivalent of Journey I never felt they reached the heights that Tiger paved the way for.

I thought it was was funny when Journey has a synth heavy album, the next year Survivor has a synth heavy album with a Perry like vocalist.
the "In good faith" Faithfully is pretty funny as well.
Then a couple years later Journey loses its rythm section...
follow Survivor.
Journey goes on hiatus for a long time, thinks about getting a new lead singer...
Survivor....

Then they both come back with their lead singer for 1 album, and get a replacement singer.

Now Jamison comes back and screws the whole timeline up before Perry could come back!!!

Ironically, I'm listening to Steve Perry's Street Talk album as I'm on here.

I read an interview with Frankie Sullivan where he said that he and Steve Perry had once talked about writing some songs together. Could you imagine Sullivan and Perry actually trying to work on a project together? As much as I would love to hear something that they worked on together, with Perry singing it and Sullivan playing guitar on it, we know that it would never happen in a million years. Neither one of them can manage to ever finish a project, and they're both control freaks who have to have everything their own way all of the time.
