I was reminded that today is Dean's birthday. So sad, still. I miss that dude every day.

Me, too. I am so glad to have known Dean. I'll never forget his response to my first post here on MR or the first time we met face-to-face. Gone too soon but not forgotten.

Thanks now I am depressed. I think about him a lot lately, things he would tell me off for...LOL Things he would say to make me laugh...He was a light in most of our lives and it was extinguished way too soon. Lets face it no one could tell you off like he did and you would laugh and not take it personally. He would all of a sudden tell me to go do things to my husband I would not even dare to say in front of anybody!

Don't be depressed. Be happy you knew him.

Even when he and I were at odds I still laughed at the things he posted when I couldn't respond on here.

I have so many stories and funny pictures.

The fact that he reached out to me a few weeks before he left us meant the world to me.

I was glad I got to meet Dean, Lula and Wyatt. Got to walk around Las Vegas Boulevard with them, and it was like being with family. I so miss his presence on here. His posts were the reason I kept coming back to this board in the beginning.

Thanks for all the side-splitting laughs, the jabs, the caring and mostly, for the friendship. You were absolutely one of a kind, and you are sorely missed.

Ha! Now, that sounds like Dean. I can't say that he ever once told me off. He did share a lot of funny stories with me and nobody could make me piss myself laughing the way that he could. Very fitting that Dean shares a birthday with Elvis. He was truly one of a kind.

Makes me happy to log in and see Dean's birthday remembered here. I think of Dean everyday and miss him beyond all words can convey. I often think about Dean's postings here over the years and it still makes me laugh out loud at the thought of his often outrageous but always hilarious comments. This forum was such a big part of his life...all the topics over the last year that would have had Dean all "fired-up" on the boards would have made for priceless entertainment. As sad as the ending is, I am so grateful to have known Dean and have his memory live on with me always...And again, I'm so glad to see Dean still being thought of fondly here by you all...

I started reading this thread at work today and got pretty choked up. I had to close the window and concentrate until now. I know Dean and I didn't hit it off right away and it took me awhile to get past his "shtick", antics, or whatever, but I got to know him and I began to love him, because I found there was more to him than his forum personna. Dean was not a shallow person. He could kick you right in the balls then he could turn around and love you like a brother. He didn't sugar coat things......you always knew where you stood.

Happy birthday Dean! I miss you.

I hate that we have to remember this guy in this way(the past tense). Image
His inner turmoil and self destructive behavior was often what would attract people to him , and scare others away.Image

In all the time on here , he and i never had words , and for some reason he got me instantly and i apparently was always able to make him laugh, which i'm glad because i know he was struggling so much toward the end(still i would trade all that for him to be still with us and he enjoying his time with his son and Lula)
Image Image ImageImage ImageImage Image Image
i can't tell you how many times he would email me and say "Yul what if we made my avatar look like christ, or a pizza delivery guy "etc. i would go to work on it , he would bounce ideas and then i would screw around until he said it was perfect

I miss seeing him on here, and I still hate the way we left off. I read his last PM to me the other day and it was pretty sad. RIP big guy, and you're in my prayers Lula. He was definitely one of a kind. I still chuckle every time I think about our phone conversations. He had me DYING!

We all miss that magical mayhem only he had.

Very weird occurrence last night. I went to visit and hang out with my brother last night (not T-Time, my other brother) who came to the Las Vegas show with me in March 2008 with the big MR get-together at the Heart Bar. He never visits this board and his last memory of that trip came up last night. My brother never talked to Deano on these boards nor did he ever know his legend when in Vegas. He just happened to overhear Deano say "Fuck" in a very funny way and my bro laughed at the way he said it. Out of nowhere last night, he referenced that but couldn't figure it out where it came from. I looked at him and was like "Dude, that's very weird. That was Deano's line in Vegas, today is his birthday." We looked at each other and saluted Big Dean. Cool but weird moment.

Ah it was the way we said hello to each other, I would act appalled at what he would do, he would come back with a retort, and then I would shoot back at him, it was all in jest and we both knew we were not mad at each other. Sometimes the battles were pretty hysterical.

That's right, Rick. He's the quiet one, I'm the blabber, lol. Thanks for the nice compliment. I think highly of you as well. In fact, if my trip to Dallas wasn't so busy, I told Gayle to get ahold of you to just say hello! Next time my friend. I love all you guys here at MR and Deano was practically a main attraction for that. I'll always be grateful to have met such great and wonderful people on these boards. Good times, Deano was proud.

Take the keyboard, mouse and audience away from Dean and you might be shocked how down to earth he was. We were driving over to the Key Club to meet up with JSS and Trev Lukather and during the ride started talking about our old service days (not that we knew each other back then). Just a nice intelligent conversation.
Dean was no dummy, the guy could have easily been running a company or something if he could have just straightened himself out.
What's past is past though, no do overs; when it comes to the crunch, no stepping back through that door to infinity.

I miss Deano and his jokes at times like right now, when Ive had a crap day and need a laugh. In the past , I could count on coming onto this board and getting a having a good long sanity restoring belly laugh at Deano's antics, jokes and stories. I still like coming on this forum, but I never find anything on here to make me laugh anymore.
