Of course beer is the bev of choice. :D

With that....I'd say corn bread. The garlic would clash with the saurkraut.

Emeril has spoken!

(That does sound good, but I think I'd still opt for garlic.)

Man, I fired up the grill yesterday evening also. Grilled some thick swordfish fillets along with some Dolphin. Love to cook ( it's like a hidden

passion of mine) & try different recipes out. Did a whole chicken Moroccan style couple of days ago, man, that was great.

Nice!!!
I took up grilling a couple of years ago, and consider it a kind of therapy of sorts. I don't do anything "by the books", I make my own marinades, and I've only had one failure. That's why I have the "lowest ratio that goes on my grill is 80/20" now.

I actually gain weight everytime we go to Japan for a few months because of the grilling we do while there.
I've never eaten a piece of sushi I didn't thoroughly enjoy.

Japanese people eat a TON of fatty food, yet they're the picture of health. Astounds me.

What's the ton of fatty food eaten in Japan? The only really fatty food in Japan that I know of besides tempura is the Western style foods like hamburg and potato fries, deep fried (American) chicken found at like KFC and Round Table Pizza, though the pizza they make in Japan usually doesn't have share the same type of cured meat topings as found on the US pizza.

I gain weight because I overeat on food such as yakitori, yakisoba, yakitomorokoshi, yaki-ika, takoyaki (without the mayo), and okonomiyaki . "Yaki" means "grilled" in Japanese. The food isn't bad while eaten in moderation, but I overdo it since I can only get the real authentic tasting Japanese food while visiting Japan. At least 90% of what is sold in the US as Japanese food does not have the traditional flavors, and lots of time even the traditional ingredients are not being used. My problem is I first ate Japanese food in Japan so I tend to only enjoy and prefer to eat Japanese food in Japan where I first ate it.

The take out that love in Japan is only the filet o'fish from McDonalds and/or most anything from MOS Burger.

Beach grilling is good, we're always grilling on the beach in Japan. Does anyone here grill on the beach?

All the time, it's right out my backdoor. And I think Liam is mixing his japanese food up with his Chinese!

Well, when I was in high school, I thought stirfried rice and fortune cookies were Japanese.
