VUDU ....got hacked
Nice email VUDU sends...3 weeks AFTER the fact...
We want to let you know that there was a break-in at the VUDU offices on March 24, 2013 and a number of items were stolen, including hard drives. Our investigation thus far indicates that these hard drives contained your email address and your VUDU account activity, if you had any. Additionally, if you provided a name, postal address or phone number, that information would have been included on the hard drives. Finally, if you provided a credit card number for your account, only the last four digits would have been included on the hard drive. While the potential impact of misuse of your email and account activity is limited, we wanted to let you know right away so you can take precautions.
EMAIL PRECAUTIONS:
It is possible that you could get spam email, emails asking for personal information, or emails asking you to click on links to other websites. As always, you should never provide personal or account information in response to a call, email or postal mail claiming to be VUDU (or anyone else) and you should avoid clicking on links in emails you were not expecting.
We have FAQs on our web site if you have general questions regarding this incident.
We have reported this incident to law enforcement and are cooperating fully with their investigation. We want you to know that we take this matter very seriously, and we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
Thank you,
Prasanna Ganesan
