They mention 4 original members...wonder who they are? I'm assuming not Peterik, still, but what about the original drummer, Doug Johnson I think, and Stephen Ellis on bass...are they back, too? What does original mean? I can't imagine Droubay's out...

I think they mean 4 of the 80's, Sullivan, Jamison, Bickler and Droubay.

The question: will they put something out this time?

This of course sounds great! It's something that many of us have very much wanted to happen for several years now!

However, it won't mean much if they do NOT do at least one of the following, and preferably both...

1. Release new material.
2. Do far more live shows in a wide range of areas.

Great start Frankie!!! I give you credit for it.

But now live up to the claim that you guys are going to record new material.

ZZZZZZZ....*Huh?* Er what? Who woke me up????

Well, well, weren't we asking whether it would happen? Just missing one little spice but this is indeed a step forward....I hope.

Andrew, I know you gave up but no excuse for you not to find out this before survivormusic.com I  Anyway hope you are making calls to find out whether this is a very tardy April fools joke

I'm out of the loop these days.

It's Frankie's show and we don't communicate that well.

Makes sense.

Well I can tell you I spoke to one old friend who usually finds time to go for shows. She went for the Toledo, Show April 18 2013. Both JJ and DB were there and performing! EOTT was a duo lead vocals. And Rebel Girl (old Survivor staple) was played. Both apparently looked nervous, few slips up with the lyrics but went overall well with the crowd.

Later.

Edit: Setlist found! (not sure if official)

Feels Like Love
Can't Give It Up
Take You On a Saturday
High on You
Rebel Girl
It's The singer, Not The Song
Poor Man's Son
The Search Is Over
Summer Nights
Rockin' Into The Night
I Can't Hold Back
Somewhere In America
Eye of the Tiger

So by 4 original they mean: Sullivan, Doubry, Jamison and Bickler.

Surprised no Burning Heart and Caught In The Game in the setlist.

It's funny how i mentioned, maybe even last week, that Jimi Jamison and Dave Bickler should join forces and release a CD together if Survivor wasn't going anywhere. Now, we hear that both are in the band. I love it, but it doesn't mean anything unless these guys can record and album and tour. Really would be perfect to have Peterik writing for them again...I know I know, ain't gonna happen!

I had already really wanted to go to that Toledo show last night, but didn't for a number of reasons that I won't bother getting into on here. Pisses me off that I missed a show that was sort of near-by for me, and it turns out that it's the first show with both Jimi and Dave.

So, i tended to bitch a lot about what FS did or especially not did the recent years. I try to be optimistic about this change of things. Well, FS might not be disturbed if I only believe what I see or finally hear.

It seems to be unbelivable that now everything will turn out the right way after there have been some many legal disputes in between the band members. To me it seems quite obvious that some of those members received a decent to nothing share of the royalties of the past. Otherwise i cannot be explained why Bickler and Peterik stayed relatively calm, whereas Jamison and Ellis had to counter-sue FS for royalties.

I do not believe that this will work out without the songwriting efforts of Peterik. Furthermore I do not believe that even if Peterik would write for them that they really come back with new successful recordings. I think that this is a very fragile construction and won`t last long. I am happy if my assumptions turn out to be wrong, but mainly I hope that these events do not prevent Bickler to finally release his solo album. I am eager to get this one and i do not care about "pitch`or whatever problems.

Interesting definition of the word "original".

How can you have FOUR original members when Jimi Jamison replaced David Bickler, thus making him NOT an original.

In reality, it's only 2 originals, Sullivan and Bickler. Of course Droubay and Jamison are key members from the height of the bands success.

Totally did not see that coming! This is great news, no doubt about it. The opportunity to hear to monsters of singers together playing the classicks is amazing.
Would not want thou to this be an excuse for not coming out with something new with Jimi. I still think they should focus on that if they want to make fans happy.
Wonder if Dave will be in Europe too..

Same set list in WV show. Dave and Jimi both on stage sharing the mike. Only one long Frankie solo (nice for a change). Overall a fun time. Neither Dave nor Jimi can sing like they used to, unfortunately, but it was great anyway. I think Dave is still getting used to being a front man again as he was a little awkward at times.

Was great hearing them do Rebel Girl. Never thought I'd hear that one live, so I'm glad they did it. I missed Is This Love and Caught in the Game. Not sure why they'd leave two of their best off the song list...

The crowd was pretty good and was able to sing along on certain songs, so I know there were a lot of Survivor fans and not just drunk gamblers :)

Does the guy that's not singing lead vocals at the time, sing backing vocals?

Jimi is able to play a little bit of guitar and keyboards, and Dave is able to play some keyboards.
Dave was the keyboardist on the first Survivor album.

Musicianship was a lot better than the previous year with Jamo singing the Dave era stuff...

But christ, what have they done to the tempo? The songs are SO slow... Search is Over just DRAGS...

At least Dave is helping drown out Frankie a bit...
